• When the sun began streaming through the blinds the next morning I gave up all pretense of even trying to sleep and got up to get ready for class. I had picked out my outfits for the week but had to find something else for today because of my little problem. Opting for a safer option of a floral maxi dress with a ruched fitted bodice with crisscross straps at the back, I was ready.
• Javier was away but would be back today and the house felt empty without him. I enjoyed my morning hot chocolate and ate some toast while I caught up on the day’s schedule, with my phone in my hand, gazing out at the sunlit garden as I waited for the driver to bring the car around.
