Chapter 37

• The rest of the week saw the company going through a major negative change. Nathan watched people who he worked with get relieved of their jobs and sent home and they were replaced by unserious people that he didn’t even know where Pedro got them from. The most painful of them all was when Pedro told director Christian to retire, it was off-putting and he had to step in and remind him he had no such power but Pedro had told him to fuck off and Christian told him not to worry about it.
• It was Monday again, two weeks since Sebastian went into a coma and the company stock had dropped by thirty percent. Nathan found out that it was the first time in years that the company would experience such a huge loss but Pedro refused to see the errors in his ways. Refused to listen to anyone and kept changing things. Even the people that didn’t get fired didn’t like coming to work anymore. The café was shut down because the fucker fired the workers there. According to him, the company had no money to be feeding people for free. It was like witnessing a nightmare and not being able to do anything. It got Nathan wondering how Pedro was able to run a business of his own. It wasn’t hard for him to figure out the difference. Pedro was stealing from the company for his own and was sending everyone who tried to stop him away. It was as if to him, Sebastian was already dead and he now owns Ulmer’s holdings.
• A knock came on his office door and he looked up to see one of the new assistants that Pedro had employed.
