Chapter 123

• The plane ride back to Sydney was long and filled with silence. Nathan tried to talk to Gianni but she refused to speak to him so he gave up and decided to give her the space that she needed. She went to the bedroom on the plane while he remained seated. He had to speak to some of the directors who called him to let him know that they were aware of what had happened because it was all over the news which further proved there was someone within the mansion carrying the family news outside. Nathan made a mental note to fish them out when he finally settled down enough.
• “Gia? We are landing,”
• He said, tapping her gently, she opened her eyes and glared at him, removing his hand from her body. He nodded wordlessly and walked back to take his seat. She came out a few minutes later and took the seat further away from him. Even though it had only been a couple of hours since she stopped talking to him, it felt like forever and he missed her. He didn’t have time to dwell on that as the plane landed and they both got into the car that would take them to the hospital. He called Nora earlier and she said the doctors refused to let her see him. He assured her that they were on the way and that she could go back home. That was about ten hours ago.
