Chapter 31

• Jacinda woke up feeling sore and hungry. She frowned. It wasn’t the first time. She turned her head to see Reid slumped in a chair beside her dresser. Sitting up slowly she looked around. There were two cups and a half bottle of apple juice on the table beside her. He had stayed. Why? Where was Sandy?
• “You’re awake.”
• She looked to see him pulling himself up in the chair. “Yeah.” She regarded the cups again. “Thanks for looking after me.” She brushed her hair away from her face. “Was it bad?”
