Chapter 5

  • "I've previously warned you not to wear glasses."
  • Tyler was struck by Cielo's tenderness when she applied medication to him, and this was due to her fragility.
  • As a result, he couldn't help but want to touch her.
  • After all, she was his wife. How come he couldn't just reach out and touch her?
  • But to Cielo, he was Tyler's cousin, 'Troy.'
  • He had repeatedly flirted with her and kissed her, which was far beyond her tolerance level.
  • Cielo yanked him away with all his strength and took a few steps back. "Troy, I'm your cousin's wife!" she chastised him. Could you please treat me with decency?"
  • After what had happened, she didn't appear to despise him as much as she had previously. She had not expected him to act in such a rash manner.
  • Tyler licked his lips, as if savoring the aftertaste's flavor. "If you choose to stay with Tyler, you will be lonely for the rest of your life," he said with a seductive tone in his voice. "How come you're not considering me?"
  • "No!" Cielo didn't think twice about rejecting him.
  • She did not appear to be charming at all because she appeared slow-witted and dressed in an unattractive manner.
  • Tyler, on the other hand, was captivated by her physical appearance.
  • Cielo realized she couldn't sit around doing nothing any longer. It would only make him more shady in the future.
  • "Arrange for someone to pick you up and drive you home." If you don't respond, I'll call an ambulance, and everyone will know you've been injured."
  • Her voice was so gentle that even when she spoke menacingly, she did not come across as frightening.
  • Tyler gave her a sidelong glance. He closed his eyes and fell asleep, as if he hadn't heard her.
  • Cielo was completely taken aback.
  • After seeing his frail face, she couldn't bring herself to rouse him and chase him away.
  • Cielo went grocery shopping while 'Troy' slept.
  • Despite the fact that she was a member of the Hill family, she was not treated. Even if she was sick or hungry, no one would notice her most of the time. For the entire time, she had been bearing the brunt of her pains on her own.
  • As a result, she was able to live an independent life.
  • No matter how much she despised 'Troy,' she couldn't afford to ignore him and let him die in her home.
  • She'd spent her entire life toiling away. She didn't want to be a part of someone's death or to die as a result of his actions.
  • As a result, she reluctantly began to make soup for him.
  • .......................................
  • Cielo awoke 'Troy' from his sleep as night fell.
  • "Do you want something to eat?" "Would you like some soup?" She took two steps away from him because she was afraid he would breach the boundary again.
  • Tyler acknowledged by bowing his head and saying, "Yes."
  • Cielo carried the soup over to his room and placed it on the small table for him to eat in bed. She promptly withdrew as a result.
  • Hers, on the other hand, was far too small.
  • Apart from the divided kitchen and bathroom, there was a tiny bed, a small folding table, a couch that could only fit one person, and an old bookcase... These few basic objects had already taken up nearly the entire room.
  • She couldn't get out of Tyler's sight for long, no matter where she went.
  • Tyler gave her a sidelong glance before rising to his feet. He then raised the comforter, revealing the bloodied gauze on his chest. Tyler was emotionless. "The wound has split open," he said casually.
  • The man was acting as if there was nothing that could endanger his life.
  • Cielo had a part of herself that didn't want to care for him, but she couldn't bear the thought of abandoning him.
  • Cielo approached him with caution and reluctance. She then took up the dish and began serving the soup to him.
  • Tyler lowered his gaze and sipped the soup, saying nothing else.
  • The cramped quarters were deafeningly quiet. As the spoon came into contact with the edge of the bowl, only a faint sound could be heard. At this point, it appeared that they were sharing unexplainable chemistry.
  • ----
  • The following day...
  • Cielo was awakened by the sound of her phone ringing.
  • She was using an old phone that could only be used to make phone calls and send text messages in order to appear as poor as possible.
  • She immediately came to when she saw the caller's name on her phone screen.
  • Before answering the phone, she took a deep breath. "Hello, Dad," I say.
  • "Did you return home yesterday?" Levin inquired solemnly. "Who did you think sent you back?"
  • Cielo couldn't believe her father's first question after marrying her off was this. She was ultimately and completely disappointed.
  • Furthermore, Levin only called her on rare occasions. Cielo couldn't help but wonder what he was doing now that he had called to inquire about this matter.
  • Nonetheless, she informed him that he was "Tyler's cousin."
  • "Bring Clarisse to Smith Villa for a visit whenever you get the chance," Levin, on the other end of the phone line, said after a brief pause. If you see a nice young man, introduce him to her so she can make more friends."
  • Cielo immediately understood what he was saying.
  • She reasoned that because she had left Hill Villa the day before, 'Troy' and Clarisse might have run into each other.
  • Clarisse most likely had feelings for 'Troy,' so she asked her to pull some strings.
  • The father-daughter team appeared to have planned every detail from the beginning of the story.
  • Originally, Clarisse was engaged to Tyler. Cielo, on the other hand, had married Tyler.
  • They'd then use Cielo as a springboard to find Clarisse, another nice guy in the Smith family, to marry.
  • Everyone in New York City knew that, with the exception of Tyler, every member of Tyler's Smith family was exceptional and intelligent.
  • Cielo's eyes were filled with a wry look of self-loathing. She wondered why Levin treated her and Clarisse so differently because they were both his biological daughters.
  • It's difficult to understand how someone could be so prejudiced.
  • "I'd love to invite Clarisse to Smith Villa, but I haven't met Tyler yet," Cielo said calmly, despite her resentment.
  • Levin's rage grew as he realized what had occurred.
  • "What? You haven't even had the opportunity to meet your husband? What is it about you that renders you ineffective? And you had the audacity to go back home!"
  • As tears streamed up her throat, she gulped hard. "I'm sorry," she said, her voice as usual. "If you bring Clarisse to Smith Villa, Tyler may agree to meet with her." I'm just a phony pretender. "What makes him want to come to see me in the first place?"
  • Tyler, who had just exited the restroom, overheard Cielo's conversation at this precise moment.
  • As she sat on her bed in her room, her long, thick hair fell to her waist. Because she was gripping her phone so tightly. Protruding veins were seen on the back of her hand. Tears framed her eyes, but she fought them with everything she had, blinking furiously. Tyler's heart swelled with compassion as he saw her frail body.
  • He squinted his eyes and couldn't help but notice how beautiful his newlywed bride was becoming.
  • For a brief moment, Cielo's face turned pale, but Tyler had no idea what the person on the other end of the phone had said. She said nothing and didn't even hang up the phone.
  • Tyler quickly approached her, took the phone from her grasp, and hung up.
  • He was taken aback by the fact that she was still using an old-fashioned cell phone.
  • "If you don't feel like listening to it, simply don't," he added, looking down at Cielo, his voice flat.
  • Cielo's eyes welled up with tears as she raised her head in terror. However, because her vision was blurry, she couldn't make out his features clearly.
  • To her surprise, she seemed to detect a faint tinge of consolation in his remarks.
  • "How did I end up in bed?" she enquired, her eyes widening with curiosity.
  • Cielo remembered sleeping on the couch the night before because she had let 'Troy' sleep in the bed the night before.
  • "You climbed up to the bed when you were sleepwalking," Tyler remarked, keeping a poker face on the situation. He then approached her bedside and sat beside her.
