Chapter 5 Used

  • I was going through the words I had jotted down when I realized Keiran wasn't in the class yet but his friends were settled at the back row including Hillary who's always following him like a pet and it's owner.
  • I had put my whole focus in class until now. My wolf was silent and I couldn't tell how she was doing.
  • How did I let things turn out this way? After he left for one month, I should have destroyed the bond. I should have had the Alpha of the pack do something but instead, I adjusted too fast and it was like he never left.
  • I remember his parents coming to meet me at home three months ago. It was just like any other Saturday when I'd have to do the laundry and assist Sky with his homework. I was not too smart but I could at least try once I study the examples.
  • Mom walked in while I was rounding up my clothes into the closet and then she held a cold look I couldn't define.
  • She spoke so softly informing me that Keiran's parents were at the living room waiting for me. I went to meet them without hesitation in case they had news about his whereabout. I was disappointed when they said they were still looking for him. Then they said they needed a favor. They made sure Sky wasn't close by before saying they wanted me to sleep with someone else so when Keiran felt the pain, he'd return.
  • It was so awkward at first. I wondered how much it took them to say that to my face. I should just give up my body so their son would return, then what?
  • He destroys my life because I caused him so much pain. That's so unfair. The worst thing they could come up with!
  • Keiran left on his own, I never escorted him to the bus stop or anything. He wanted to be left alone to wherever he went to.
  • Besides, I thought about him getting so hurt that he decides to harm himself. What if he was depressed and wanted to end his life? Ugh! The idea caused me so much thought and added to my stress.
  • I was trying so hard to prove my point before Jared stepped in and made it clear that he won't let me do that. When they heard his voice, they dropped the topic and decided to wait till whenever he returned.
  • Which brings us to now. He's back and he's acting more worse than before. His family won't spill where he was either. It's just so disturbing.
  • But I won't let Keiran be the death of me. I'll move on with my life. Do what I have to do to be happy and fulfill my immense wishes.
  • As Daphne and I walked through the hallway leading to the cafeteria, we noticed the notes pasted on notice boards talking about one club or the other.
  • Daphne quickly took out her pen and put down our names on the note for drama club. Apparently, she wanted to be given the position of a director. She seems so bright and ambitious. I guess I'd try acting. That might be what I can do better.
  • We were close to the cafeteria when someone intercepted standing in front of us. Noah.
  • A tall handsome human whom I have known for almost three years now and by known, it's actually when he started talking to me. He played football and was the main striker. Very successful and also admired all round town.
  • Well, the football team are like the most important team and they just have more attention than any other club.
  • "Hi, Noah." I said forcing out a smile.
  • Daphne smiled, greeting him too. "Hey."
  • "Hi girls, I wanted to know if you guys can attend a party at my place tonight—"
  • "Sure. We'll be there!" Daphne interpolated and I blinked, gob smacked.
  • How on earth could she just decide to go for the both of us?
  • I had no words as Noah chuckled exposing his dimples. "That's great. Do you want me to pick you up?"
  • I was expecting another fast response from Daphne but she paused and looked at me.
  • Oh now she's letting me make the choice. I imagined myself shaking my head with amusement.
  • "Don't worry, we'll be there." I replied holding onto Daphne's sweaty palm.
  • Noah was slowly pulling away when I smelt the wave of 'that' scent. It clouded my nostrils and I looked sideways to see Keiran standing close to us and having a stare down at Noah.
  • His eyes were so fixed on him like he wanted to seep into his soul through his head. Noah was also looking at him but he didn't waste time before walking away.
  • Keiran sighed still staring at the figure that just left.
  • "Asshole." He whispered but I heard it loud and clear. Because I was paying so much attention! I had to stop that.
  • I held onto Daphne's hand firmly and tried to walk into the cafeteria but he stopped me by grabbing my free hand tightening it around his palm.
  • I growled quietly, my heart pounding and mind gradually boiling with anger.
  • "Let me go, Keiran." I ordered coldly snatching my wrist away from his grip.
  • "I won't do that until I talk to you." He said sounding non-negotiable.
  • "I rather eat mud than to talk to you." I replied sarcastically.
  • I was happy that I still had confidence when I felt Daphne withdrawing from my hold. I quickly glanced at her to see she was staring at Keiran.
  • Keiran was giving her that 'devil inspired' look which was very threatening and frightening.
  • Sometimes he could look the a demon. I used to think he was probably a lycan or something with the stories I've heard about them being straight cruel and evil.
  • "I'm sorry, Umbrie. I don't want to ditch you but I think you both need privacy." She muttered to me before going into the cafeteria. She looked nervous.
  • Keiran scared her. She's human so she's quite affected because if it was a werewolf, a damn stare down would have ensued like the one I was giving him at the moment.
  • "Leave me alone, Keiran. Please..." I said surprised with the firmness of my voice.
  • I've taken enough, haven't I? I should break down by now.
  • "Some friend you have." He remarked with his fingers still clutching onto my wrist.
  • "Didn't you hear what I just said, you overbearing asshole!" I rasped glaring at him..
  • "Don't beg me." He said calmly which was the damn straight opposite of my voice.
  • "What?" I asked not missing a beat.
  • "Don't beg me, Umbrie. You said and I quote 'Keiran let me go, please...'. It makes you look weak as hell." He stated sounding so cold and without any emotion showing on his face.
  • "I yelled at you but you won't listen." I replied as he released his hold.
  • "Fine, I listened. I let you go, now it's your turn to listen to me. Let's go somewhere else." He said walking past me.
  • I followed fearing I might regret it.
  • He led me to the school garden which was very broad and filled with various flowers. The scent was too captivating and I wished this was how the forest next to the pack house was. I swear I'd run around it everyday.
  • "Did you do that to me because I didn't answer your calls?" I asked with my body heating up.
  • He stopped walking deeper and turned around fast.
  • "No. I'm not like that--"
  • "Really? Because I don't know anymore, Keiran! How could you hurt me that way? What did I ever do to you?!" I rasped restricting myself from attacking him and ripping him to shreds.
  • "I was drugged. I'm still trying to find out who did that." He replied voice so low.
  • "You expect me to believe that? You were drugged? Maybe I should drug myself one day and see if I'd end up in another guy's bed." I hurled with clenching my fists.
  • He suddenly froze, his expression turning angry instead of being empty like he didn't know how he felt.
  • "Don't do anything stupid to your body." He said looking away.
  • I scoffed folding my hands. He's completely unbelievable. He can do whatever he wants without involving me and now he wants to tell me what to do.
  • He sighs and runs a hand through his hair like he was frustrated.
  • "I was at a club, okay? You can ask Hillary. A certain someone told me they saw you leaving your house with Sky dressed in black. I kept calling you to know what was up but you weren't answering. The drug from the drink I had was having an effect on me so I called you many times. I don't know how I found myself away in a room, tied up and 'used." He narrated whispering the last part.
  • What the hell...
  • "My stupid friends couldn't stop that shit from happening. It's so weird because that person must have known I was a werewolf and was mated to someone. If not, she wouldn't have tied me up." He added making a lot go through my mind.
  • So, he didn't do it on purpose. God! I'm still furious. Why would he go to a club? Why wasn't he careful? Why couldn't he push her off?! He couldn't stop the pain from f**king happening.
  • "You keep on tormenting me one way or the other! I just hate you so much. You are a living nightmare." I cussed him furiously beating him against his chest.
  • I wished I could do more harm to him.
  • And to think he had someone monitoring me in my own house.
  • "I miss you too, Umbrie." He replied staring heavily at me.
  • I sucked in a breath.
  • "Let's break the bond—"
  • The sound of a phone ringing escalated in the atmosphere and he withdrew his cellphone from his pocket brushing off the peace and quiet.
  • He placed the cell on his ear and listened to whatever the person said.
  • I was nervous and shaking in my pants. Did he hear what I said? He doesn't say anything as he's still on the line.
