Chapter 4

  • Leon
  • I was very stressed out, and the only person who could stand me was my secretary. I think she even deserves a bonus for putting up with me so much.
  • - What happened now, Mr. Vitorino? - she asks me, with a calmness that I envy.
  • - Problems, Vanessa, as always! - I say, wanting to reassure her. She was the only woman who didn't try to get me into bed or vice versa. I think she was immune to me. My cock never once lifted to her in greeting. I guess I really am getting old.
  • - So, today you received a call from Miss Munhoz," she says, and I groan quietly. This woman has really become a curse.
  • - What did she say?
  • - For you to call her," Vanessa shrugs, as if she thinks it's normal.
  • - I'll call you back! - but I wouldn't call that crazy woman for shit. She really delivered on her promise to make my life a living hell. Now the crazy woman said she thought I had knocked her up.
  • - Well, you have a Skype meeting with the chocolate suppliers in a few minutes - I hear Vanessa talking, and I'm thinking about how to get rid of Laura.
  • - Damn, I had forgotten about that," I comment, already stressed about it.
  • - But I didn't!
  • I smile.
  • - OK, what else do we have today? - I ask, wishing I were back in bed.
  • - I have already made arrangements with the caterer to have the New Year's Eve dinner.
  • - Really? - I look at her in amazement.
  • - Really, everything is organized for next week, the Christmas baskets and also the chocolate ones are being organized," she goes on about what I had for today and also what I had in advance. I was still in shock at her for taking care of what my old secretary would take weeks to do.
  • - My God, woman, if you were not my secretary I would marry you!
  • - No thanks," she jokes, and I laugh. I know Vanessa is dating a doctor.
  • - Wow, you hurt my heart! - I joke, winking.
  • - Uh... I know! - she laughs, and continues: - I'm not your type, and even if I was, I'm very happy with my boyfriend.
  • - Gee, you can't compete, can you," I joke again.
  • Vanessa was the only woman I liked who didn't want to spread her legs for me to fuck.
  • - Vanessa, how long have you been working for me?
  • - Um... - she looks pensive and then smiles: - It's been a year and a half, why?
  • - No reason, no! Just curious. So, are you bringing someone from your family?
  • - I'm trying to convince my sister to come!
  • - Really? I would really like to meet her.
  • - Let's see if she comes, she's kind of a recluse.
  • - Well, let me know and I'll have a basket made for her too.
  • - Oh, don't worry, Duda eats my chocolates," I laugh. - Well, I'll go to my desk, and you make the call right away, before your suppliers and directors get mad at you - she jokes again, and leaves me alone.
  • I open my Skype, and before long the directors show up and we start talking about my chocolate company. Thank God, I have great sales.
  • A few hours later.
  • I stretch out on the chair. I was all sore. I hadn't eaten anything, and before long Vanessa walks in with my lunch. My mouth fills with water.
  • - Vanessa, I need to marry you! - I joke again when I see that she has ordered white rice with chicken strogonoff and potato chips and an orange juice.
  • - I already said that I don't want to marry you," she replies, ironically, and leaves the food. I go back to the table and eat; God, that was good.
  • It doesn't take long and I'm done with the food and juice. I get up and go to the bathroom, where I have a case with my personal things.
  • I go back to my desk and continue working until the end of the workday. I am interrupted again when Vanessa comes in to tell me that she is leaving.
  • - I'm leaving too! - I warn her, and soon we say goodbye. I stay a little longer in the office. When I leave, instead of going after a "tail of skirt," I head home.
  • The company of which I am president was founded by my father, now retired. He always said that chocolate is more than an aphrodisiac, it is love, and when you love someone you give them chocolates. This is how he met my mother, by giving her chocolates as a present.
  • I arrive home soon and, as usual, Olivia has already prepared dinner. I go up to my room and take a long shower. As I am getting out of the shower, my cell phone rings. I notice it's my mother and answer it.
  • - Hi Mom, good night! - I greet her.
  • - Unnatural son! - she complains, and I laugh.
  • - Mom, for God's sake, I saw you on the weekend! - I reply, still laughing.
  • - Son, I miss you! - she says in a complaining tone.
  • - I love you too! - I answer, trying to imagine why she was calling me.
  • - My son, you need to get yourself a beautiful wife! - here she comes again with this story.
  • - Mom, you know I'll never get married! - I remind her, and think that I will never love anyone either.
  • - My son, listen to what I am going to tell you
