• The next morning, I got out of bed, dragged my feet to the door, and gently opened the door. I poked my head through the small opening to look around, and luckily for me, Adrian was nowhere around.
• I understood what he had meant last night and the way he meant it. But it all came rushing back: the way Damien treated me, the backlash I went through because of my size, my ex-friend's betrayal, and everything I had gone through for the past few weeks.
