Chapter 24 Trouble In Owen’S House

  • “Rebecca!” Owen stormed into the house after Rebecca. She was boiling in rage, and Owen wasn’t in a good mood either. “You listen when I’m talking to you, Rebecca!” He spat, rushing to her and grabbing her hand before she could walk out of the living room. “Don’t you dare touch me!” She barked, yanking her hands off him. “What is wrong with you, Owen? Since that day you set your eyes on her you have been acting strange! Do you want her, hun? Tell me! Go and meet her if you want her!” She yelled, and Owen heaved a sigh. “Oh please, Rebecca! This isn’t about her, okay? You don’t have to bring her up in every conversation we have! You are the one with the problem here! You had no right to discuss our family matters with your family! We can solve any issues we have, Rebecca!” He yelled in response.
  • She burst into an angry laughter and shook her head. “No, we cannot, Owen. I have always tried to please you with everything I do, but it’s not working. I can never please you! After you met that slut, you have forsaken your family! You didn’t go to Tyler’s school for the parents visit, after you knew I had to take Darla to the hospital. What are you so busy doing that you can’t spare some time for your own son?! Tell me, Owen!” Her angry eyes welled up with tears. Her voice turned shaky and tears streamed down her cheeks uncontrollably. When Owen saw her shed tears, he became calm immediately and started feeling guilty. “All my life Owen, all my life, I have always loved you! Not for once have I ever thought of cheating on you! But what do I get in return? Pain, anger, nonchalant attitudes from you!” She moved closer to him and poked his chest angrily.
  • “Rebecca…” His voice was low and soft this time. “Can you please calm down? I’m sorry, okay? I was angry that your father had to call me and started questioning about any affairs I was having outside my marriage. I have always told you, Rebecca, Stephanie is gone. I am home now, please don’t doubt me anymore,” He said, holding her hands. “You say this all the time, Owen. I am tired of hearing the same thing all the time. Why is it so hard to please you? I have always made you happy, but now it seems like I do everything wrong. Why?” She cried and lowered her head in anguish. “I’m sorry,” He muttered. He pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly. “It won’t happen again,” He mumbled as she wept on his shoulders.
