Chapter 2 Christmas Present

  • Stephanie was still sound asleep when the doorbell rang so loudly in her ears.
  • "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, who "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
  • She sat up and looked at her desk's timer. It was seven o'clock in the morning.
  • “Has family arrived already?” She pondered as she walked around in her fluffy slippers. As she approached the door, she dragged her feet on the floor.
  • She yawned and wiped her eyes as she yawned and yawned again, still wanting to sleep.
  • When she arrived at the door, she didn't bother to look to see who it was before opening it.
  • "All of you..."
  • When she realized it wasn't her family at the door, she took a breath. Sebastian was the culprit.
  • He was dressed in a black denim jacket, a white tee, and blue denim pants. He was dressed in a pair of boots that were not the same as the ones he wore the day before. It also appeared to be quite costly.
  • “Sebastian. "What are you doing here at this hour so early in the morning?"
  • “Merry Christmas, pretty one.” Stephanie's face brightened as he lifted the present he had gotten for her.
  • “You didn't have to... Please come in." She opened the door wider and stepped aside so he could walk in.
  • Before closing the door, she took a glimpse down the street and spotted his bike.
  • "Did I startle you?"
  • Stephanie walked up to him and nodded.
  • "You should've informed me that you were coming." I would have changed my clothes. "I have an untidy appearance."
  • Sebastian chuckled and shook his head.
  • "It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you then." I must say, you have a very attractive appearance."
  • Stephanie smiled shyly as she lowered her head.
  • "I appreciate it."
  • With a big smile on his face, he extended the quite large present in his hand to her.
  • “I got this for you.”
  • Stephanie smiled broadly as she accepted the gift.
  • "I appreciate everything you've done. I'm sorry as well for not getting you a present."
  • "Don't feel bad, Stephanie. You had no idea I was going to come back. "Would you like to open it right now?"
  • "Please have a seat. I apologize for not informing you sooner."
  • They both sat on the couch after he nodded.
  • She breathed as she untied the present's knotted ribbon. She was anxious to see what he had gotten for her.
  • When she opened the box and saw what was inside, her jaw dropped open.
  • He had purchased for her a pair of Tom Ford heel sandals as well as an Aesop cologne.
  • "Oh my God, these are exorbitant."
  • Sebastian smiled brightly as she glanced at him with amusement.
  • "Do you think they're good?"
  • “Like, are you serious? They're fantastic! They're really wonderful."
  • She held the perfume to her nose after opening the cover. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
  • "It smells fantastic." Sebastian, thank you so much; you didn't have to."
  • "I had hoped to." Stephanie, you deserve better than this."
  • "I'm not sure what you're talking about." Sebastian, you've only just met me. "What are you doing with all of this?"
  • "Don't give it too much thought." The thing is that I've been seeing you for quite some time.
  • I've been in New York City for two months. I stay on the opposite side of the road. And every morning, I've seen you stroll past my house."
  • “Really, And you've never stopped to say hello?"
  • "I wasn't sure it would be courteous." You were always in a hurry. I assumed you were going to work, and it would be impolite of me to bother you."
  • "So it wasn't a coincidence that we met at the Plaza?"
  • He shook his head and smiled broadly.
  • "I'd been waiting for the right moment to strike up a discussion with you. Fortunately, I ran into you at the Plaza, and you immediately made my Christmas.
  • She raised her eyebrows and shook her head feeling impressed.
  • "You put in so much effort... Just to have a conversation with me?"
  • “Yes. Any other sane man would have done the same."
  • She burst out laughing at his remark. Owen had shredded her heart, she remembered.
  • She stood up from the couch and said, "Emphasis on sane."
  • "Can you tell me what you'd like to eat?" I haven't done anything yet this morning. "Please accept my heartfelt apologies."
  • "Don't waste your time. "I'm perfectly fine."
  • Stephanie locked her gaze on his for a few moments. He seemed too good to be true, she thought.
  • *I'm sure he's acting.*
  • "I am adamant. Chocolate muffins are what I'd cook. Do you think they're good?"
  • "They're one of my favorites." I'd love to try your freshly baked muffins."
  • Stephanie's cheeks were flushed once again. She was afraid he wouldn't stop being sweet to her, and she'd end up falling for a stranger.
  • She reminded herself that she was no longer going to fall in love. Owen's was the pinnacle.
  • “Okay.”
  • She entered the kitchen and immediately began to work.
  • Sebastian sat still on the couch. He kept himself occupied by looking at her living room's interior design.
  • "She has a fantastic sense of style."
  • The living room had a velvety feel to it. A delicate backdrop to a stunning and rich deep-blue velvet sofa was created by a painterly floral wallpaper.
  • Sebastian yearned to sit on the sofa since it looked so inviting.
  • A blue seat cushion was on the couch where he sat, and it went wonderfully with the deep-blue couch.
  • A 29-inch Smart TV rested atop a wooden shelf stacked with books and little flower arrangements.
  • Sebastian was blown away by her taste in interior design. Despite the fact that he loved the color white to any other, he thought it was ideal because she used it.
  • The aroma of Stephanie's chocolate muffins quickly entered his nose.
  • “Gracious heavens.”
  • He closed his eyes and took a big breath. His mouth watered as he thought about the muffins.
  • When Stephanie stepped out of the kitchen, his eyes were still closed. She was wiping her hands with a napkin while wearing her Apron.
  • She intended to tell him it would only take a few minutes, but his reaction surprised her.
  • *What is he up to?
  • He flung his head back, his eyes were closed, and he had a big smile on his face.
  • “Sebastian?”
  • He dropped his head to look at her, and the smile on his face disappeared quickly.
  • "Oh, you're finished."
  • He was mortified that she saw him like that, but Stephanie thought it was cute.
  • "It's not finished yet; there's still a few minutes to go."
  • He put his hands between his legs and nodded hesitantly. He was nervous.
  • They both fell silent awkwardly, and the doorbell rang before they could say anything to each other.
  • "You should have a look at the muffins." "I'd respond to that."
  • Stephanie gave a nod and walked into the kitchen, while Sebastian stood up and headed to the door.
  • He opened the door without asking who it was and saw four people.
  • They were Stephanie's family.
  • “Owen!”
  • Princess, Stephanie's youngest sibling, shrieked and jumped on Sebastian before he could say anything.
  • “Owen? "Who is Owen?" He wondered.
