Chapter 23 On A Phone Call

• Their eyes were glued to the television, they held unto the game controller pad firmly with their hands like their lives depended on it. Sebastian’s eyes were wide open and his legs were spread open in anxiety. His car was in front of Stephanie’s but he wasn’t quite satisfied before she was catching up with him very fast. Stephanie laughed loudly as she saw how Sebastian struggled hard to keep his position in front of her. She was about to talk when Sebastian’s phone made a loud noise. He startled in fear of his ringtone, and the pad fell from his hand.
• “F**k!” He yelled. He ignored his phone and picked up the pad, but before he could continue playing, Stephanie had overtaken his car, and was so close to the finish line. “Yes!” She screamed as she crossed the finish line. She tapped his shoulder in excitement, and he scoffed angrily. “You should be thankful, my phone saved you. I would have whooped your a*s.” He mumbled and this made her laugh harder. “I told you I was going to win, didn’t I?” She boasted, and he heaved a sigh. “Fine! You won. Congratulations.” He picked up his phone to check who the interrupter was. He found out it was his Dad.
• “What does he want this time?” He thought to himself and stood up from the sofa. “I’ll be back soon. I need to quickly make a phone call,” He said to her, and she bounced her head. “Make haste and come back. I want to get your a*s whipped again,” She said, and he raised his brows. “Give me a few minutes, and I’ll be back. I will surprise you.” He narrowed his gaze at her, and she burst out laughing. He walked out of the living room and entered his room. He shut the door behind him and put a call to his dad again. His phone began to vibrate and in no time, his dad answered the phone.
