• "Sir?" My assistant, Andy, asked as he stepped into my office after I called him through the intercom.
• "I was expecting a visitor this morning, but she didn’t show up," I said, leaning back in my chair. I wasn’t sure why, but I found myself worried about Nurse Mika’s absence. Something about her message yesterday stuck with me: her fear and uncertainty. She had mentioned something about possibly being jailed, but I didn't even know her personally. What could she have done that made her think that way?
