Chapter 8
- Bella 's POV
- "We should be touring this facility, this is my favorite team."
- I try to push Melech 's attention from my family issues, I find it immature. I've got to handle my challenges on my own, I can only share it when beyond my strength. One thing I've realized is that everyone has their own issues which if they don't tell you, you wouldn't know.
- Though I want to drive his attention away from the matter, he still seems disturbed. I brush his cheeks with both of my palms as I shake his face, smiling into his face.
- "I'm coping with it, I would have asked you to come live with me if not that I......." All of a sudden he stops, I look at him intensely. It's the rest of the statement I want to hear but it seems it isn't that pleasant that's why he has decided to stop halfway.
- I guess it could be the same family issue I was having, but he is the Alpha and has authority over the pack as well as himself and he is an adult. Once you are an Alpha, your parents cease to exercise their authority over you, but in rare cases, this still happens. On a normal basis, they can still give advice but wouldn't dictate how you behave or what you should do. I believe this is the case in Melech 's case. I see him as someone who has a hundred percent control over his life.
- "What did you really want to say?" I ask after my mind tells me it's not someone that has to do with his family. _Is it because I'm not his fated mate and Alphas always have their fated mates as first choices?_
- He is the only one who can tell me the truth but at this point, he is the one to push away the topic. He leads me by the hand to take a tour round the facilities of the club. Since it's him taking me round, I would be checking out things for free. I would have paid three hundred dollars if I wanted to come here on my own on a fans visiting day to have a full tour of the entire stadium, tunnel, display room and dressing room of the players. For those who only want to check out the players dressing room or some few places here, they pay half of the money which is a hundred and fifty.
- He plays ignorant of what I asked, not wanting to say a word. I keep persisting, staring into his eyes as I grab him firmly on the arms. I don't care what those sitting around would say, they should be thinking I'm an overzealous fan that has a crush on him.
- _That's not a bad thing!_
- "Say something please!" I beg him.
- "You don't have to know everything about us at once, with time you will know everything." He smiles. The _us_ replays in my head. _Who is he really talking about?_
- I summon courage to ask. I wouldn't bother if he sees me as possessive, I'll tell him I'm just a curious type, there's nothing wrong with that. "Who are you referring to?" He bursts out laughing at my question.
- "Of course you and I?"
- I look straight into his face, not still releasing him. "Are you sure?"
- "Yes!" He chuckles. I sigh.
- "Okay," I answered heavily.
- "You have to trust me." Still his facial expression isn't serious as I expect it to be but is casual as if he doesn't know that I'm really anxious at this point.
- "He has a mate his family wants him to marry, who is living with him........" I want to explode as my wolf says this. She comes up right away, continuing with her statement before I react. "..... but he hates her." Upon hearing this, the anger fades like a puff of smoke disappearing into the atmosphere.
- Irene is always accurate, she is a supernatural being implanted in me by the moon goddess, same as every other werewolf. She has never said anything which wasn't true, so in this case, I really believe her.
- "You have a fated mate?" I watch as Melech shrieks in horror. I have uncovered his secret. "Is it really her you were talking about?"
- "Come on, I never said that." He wants to deny as almost all persons in this situation would do, so as not to hurt me.
- "You shouldn't be denying this. My wolf, Irene, told me. She is the one."
- "Then she is accurate. It's because of her but I'm not into her, in fact I hate her and wouldn't want anything to do with her."
- "Why?"
- "Come along, I don't want anyone paying attention to my conversation. Some here might be lycans and can still hear everything even in their human form."
- "Ohh!" He drags me off, romantically, placing his hand over my waist. I chuckle at the tickles created by his touch. I'm crazy right from online when he talks to me, even now. I'm behaving like a Lunatic, all because of love.
- When we are at a safe pace, far away from the heating of anyone. He stops, heaving heavily. "My wolf just hates her, she has been involved with so many men and each time I come close to her, perhaps to talk with her or trying to socialize, I feel a bad aura. My mind just doesn't tallies with her, so does my wolf. I would be doing myself more harm than good trying to get close to her."
- "What's her name?" I get so curious to know. "Not like I'm being clingy, being a naturally curious type, I just want to know more about her."
- "She is Regina Amos , the daughter of a famous musician." As he says this, I make a confirmation sound. There is no one who doesn't know Rex Amos , it's amazing how he named his last daughter a J name just like his. He has five daughters straight with a male adopted son.
- "Hmmm," I get saliva through my throat.
- "What's that?" Melech asks, disturbed.
- "Nothing."
- "Are you bothering yourself about her?" That's what I'm bothering about but I shake my head into a _no._
