Chapter 7

  • Agnes brought out a bottle of whiskey and two glass cups. She had already changed into a much more simple dress.
  • A plain grey silky dress, which made her look trim and neat.
  • Ethan consciously became aware of her long beautiful legs, as she stepped towards him.
  • She placed the cups on a round table, then she poured out the whiskey into the two glass cups and handed one to him.
  • "So tell me about your family, you have never mentioned anything about them to me before," Ethan said, trying to start up a conversation, to ease the thoughts he was thinking in his head.
  • He needed something that could divert his attention from her almost exposed skin and slender beautiful legs.
  • On the other side, Agnes's face turned sad after hearing his question. Ethan looked at her face and noticed the sudden change.
  • "You do not have to tell me, if it brings back bad memories to you," he said to her in a soft tone, after he had noticed the sad look on her face.
  • Agnes smiled at him, then she slightly opened her mouth and said, "I was abandon at the orphanage when I was a baby," she answered. Ethan stood up and walked to where she was, he sat down beside her and put a hand on her shoulder.
  • "I'm so sorry," he said to her, feeling a sudden kinship and patting her back.
  • "There is no need to say that to me, besides I am doing very well without them." She replied boldly to him.
  • "What about your own family?" She added.
  • Ethan wanted to leave her question unanswered but he knew it would be unfair, since she also shared her past experience with him.
  • "My mom is dead, you don't have to feel pity for me because I am very glad she died. The only family I have left is my dad," he said with an angry expression clearly written all over his face.
  • "Did you just say you are glad about your mom's death?" She asked in awe, shauning the angry look on his face.
  • "I do not want to talk about her any further," he replied to her, sipping his drink.
  • "What about your relatives, I mean your uncle, aunt, cousins, nephews.." she left her other words to trail away. "Don't you have any?"
  • "My mother was an only child of her parents, so I do not have any relatives from her side while my dad has a younger brother, whom I detest so much and he has a son who is almost the same age as I am," he explained.
  • "Wow, it would be a pleasure to meet your family one day," she said smiling to him.
  • What she said angered Ethan but he didn't make his anger obvious to her, "you will definitely meet my dad but as for the others, it is a no," Ethan stated to her in a clear tone, his voice Rose in anger.
  • "Why?" Agnes, the curious cat asked, staring at him with confused set of eyes.
  • "Because I hate them as much as I hate my mom. This discussion is making me feel sick, I guess it is time to take my leave," he said to her and stood up to leave in a fit of rage.
  • Agnes was mixed with different feelings at that point but one thing she knew was that she couldn't let him leave like that, she could not let him drive in such an angry condition.
  • "Please do not leave, I'm sorry if I angered you with my unnecessary and stupid questions." She pleaded with him, holding his hands in order to stop him from leaving.
  • When Ethan heard her plea, he realized he had over reacted. He turned to her and raised her chin up, so that they could look at each other face to face.
  • "Forgive me Agnes, I did not mean to pass out my anger and frustration on you." He apologetically said to her.
  • This little action he took triggered something between the both of them, a feeling of longing and desire. The both of them stared at each other with strong desire. At that moment they both wanted each other passionately.
  • "Agnes?" He called out her name, his voice hoarse and unsteady. He could not understand why he wanted her so badly, more bad than he had ever wanted a woman.
  • At the mention of her name, Whitney's blood hammered in her throat.
  • "Ethan I think it is time for you to go, it is getting late" she said but the look in her eyes told a different thing altogether. She looked at him with an urgent, naked, desire.
  • Those look in her eyes, Ethan could clearly see through them. Now he was very sure that he was not the only person that had this sexual feeling, she also felt the same way too and this made him feel victorious. His plans could easily have effect on her, if she already had this kinds of feelings for him.
  • "Are you sure you want me to go?" He asked her, making it sound more like a joke even though his words were serious. Agnes's face was as expressionless as ever. Inwardly she was battling the voice in her head that was telling her to stop him from going.
  • Ethan noticed the blank look on her face.
  • "Hey, I was just joking," he spoke to her in a flat tone. He held her close to him and whispered, "I value you so much and I would never take advantage of you, always remember this."
  • She looked up to his face and smiled, "I know. It is already late, you have to get going now." She told him, wanting to be released from his touch, which was setting her on fire.
  • "Alright I will leave but on one condition." He playfully said to her.
  • "What condition?" She asked him, attentively giving him all of her attention.
  • "The condition is that tomorrow you will have to come along with me for a very long drive, after which we will have a picnic," Ethan said to her in a heartened tone. "I want to spend more time with you, so be ready, I will come in time and if possible as early as 7 am," he said to her, not giving her a chance to decline, then he placed a light kiss on her fore head.
  • "Thanks a lot Ethan," she said with a huge smile on her face.
  • "Thanks for what? I did not do any thing special or did I?" Ethan asked, staring flirtatiously at her.
  • Agnes's expression suddenly changed into a mixture of both pain and guilt. "I can't help but feel as though I am taking advantage of you." She said to him in a childish manner.
