• Agnes woke up. She stretched her hand to the other side of the bed and whispered. "Ethan."The bed was empty. She got startled. "Ethan," she called in a haste voice.
• "I am the right here," he said faintly. He was seated on the bed and drew the blanket to cover her half naked body.
