• ​"Is everyone trapped inside okay down there?!" the chief firefighter shouted down through the opened shaft doors, flashing a high-powered yellow beam of light into the dark lift cab.
• ​I shielded my eyes from the blinding brightness and waved my hand frantically upward. "Yeah, we're alive down here! My fiancée Minnie is just deeply shaken up and terrified out of her mind. We need to get her lifted out and rushed straight to the hospital right now!"
