Chapter 89
- Alicia’s POV
- When Rosalina's calm voice came through my phone line earlier today telling me that she was no longer choosing Jordan to be her official mate, I was genuinely rattled to my absolute core. My jaw had literally dropped open right in the middle of the crowded airport departure lounge!
- For five long, exhausting years, I had personally watched Rosalina pour every single drop of her precious heart and soul into loving my stubborn brother. To be completely honest, even I—his own biological sister—had sometimes found myself staring at Jordan and wondering what on earth made him worth that much continuous effort. Between blood ties and genuine friendship, I had always, without a single second of hesitation, taken Rosalina's side. In my mind, I had spent years happily imagining the future: once Rosalina finally married into our grand pack house, the two of us would be completely inseparable. Within the dark, political walls of the Harrisford family estate, I would have protected her with my life; I would have never, ever let my best friend be treated poorly by my cold relatives or that scheming Minerva.
