• ​Once I ensure Grandma is safely tucked into her quiet, sunny room at the new nursing care facility and surrounded by the professional medical staff, I drive directly back toward the central business district. The exhausting emotional warfare of the morning leaves a dull ache in my temples, but by the time I park my car and walk through the glass doors of Beaumont Legal later that afternoon, I push all personal distractions completely out of my mind. I am a corporate lawyer first and foremost, and the office is my battlefield.
