• Minerva’s POV
• ​I watch the scene unfold with a practiced, neutral expression, but inside, my blood is simmering. Regina raises an eyebrow, her face a mask of shock; she clearly underestimated her stepdaughter. I expect Jordan to explode, to throw Rosalina out for her insolence, but he does the opposite.
• ​Anger surges through him—I can see it in the tightness of his jaw—but he restrains it. Instead of pushing her away, he pulls her into his arms, his grip possessive and firm.
