Chapter 62
- Rosalina's POV
- I park my red sedan safely by the gravel roadside, leaving the engine to idle quietly as I wait beneath the dim, amber glow of the mountain streetlamp. To calm the frantic fluttering against my ribs, I find myself humming an old, absentminded melody under my breath, my fingers lightly tapping against the leather steering wheel. The silence of the winding road is thick, but it doesn't last long. Within minutes, a pair of powerful, blinding headlights pierce through the dark rearview mirror, and a familiar, highly exclusive license plate comes sharply into view.
- A sudden wave of relief washes over me. I quickly push the car door open, step onto the cool asphalt, and lift my arm to wave toward the dark silhouette of the man inside the approaching vehicle. Vesper smoothly maneuvers his massive, luxury car, pulling up and parking right in front of my vehicle with an effortless precision.
