Chapter 5

  • Three minutes earlier
  • As Lisa turned around, her subconscious asked curiously. "What are you doing?"
  • "Going back," Lisa replied.
  • "Don't!" Her subconscious warned.
  • "I'm going back, and that is final. I don't want to be a coward. "The man only hates cowards".
  • "Yay!" her stubborn part screamed in triumph.
  • Lisa's last statement gave her some strength, and she began to run until she felt as if the air would be knocked out of her.
  • She was doing all this because she wanted to meet the man before he entered the club.
  • There he is. She thought as she saw him walking slowly towards the club, and with her purse in her left hand and her right hand akimbo, she tried to calm herself down by inhaling a large amount of oxygen for a few seconds before shouting."Hey you, saviour, what is your name?"
  • The man slowly turned around, his eyes narrowing as he realized the girl he had assumed was now inside her room, trying to sleep, was standing a few meters away from him with her hand in akimbo.
  • "Go home. It's late. Girls like you aren't supposed to be here right now," the man said.
  • Lisa's stubborn part had taken control of her body, but even Lisa was enjoying it.
  • A sly smile appeared on Lisa's face as she began to walk towards the man.
  • "And where are girls like me supposed to be?"
  • "On their bed or in a library," he replied, and began to move slowly. But even though his stride was short, it was still longer than that of Lisa's, who was walking as fast as possible in order to catch up with him.
  • Lisa finally gave up on walking and ran after him.
  • She ran past him and stopped in front of him, but the guy wasn't in the mood to stop, so she started stepping backward. She put her purse in her armpit and hugged herself. She was ready to start conversing with man at all cost.
  • "Go home," the man said.
  • Lisa tightened her arms around herself and smiled at the man before saying. "And what if I don't want to?"
  • "Then, that's your problem."
  • "Hmmmm. Thank you for saving me the other time. "
  • "You don't have to thank me again,"
  • "but I want to."
  • The man stopped walking all of a sudden and glared down at her. And even though Lisa couldn't see the man's eyes in the darkness, their intensity was enough. It was burning a hole into her soul, and her stubborn part instantly retreated, leaving just Lisa to face the man whose eyes were sparkling with a dangerous light in the darkness.
  • In fear, Lisa looked away from the man and began to look at nowhere in particular.
  • "And what gives you the impression that you are safe with me?" He asked in a voice that was full of venom.
  • Lisa's heart began to pound really loudly against her chest and she started regretting giving in to her stubborn part, which was now nowhere to be found.
  • Lisa took a step back and swallowed her saliva nervously.
  • "Told you," her subconscious mocked.
  • Lisa began to rack her brain for something to say, but she couldn't find any. "Hmmmm.... Hmmmm"
  • "You trust people easily and that was why you found yourself in that situation earlier. It's late. Let me see you home. "
  • Suddenly, her stubborn part came out, and Lisa was able to turn down the offer.
  • Lisa's mouth opened without her permission and she spoke determinably. "No. I'm not ready to go home. I still want to spend some more time at the club.
  • The man sighed softly and looked at the stubborn girl in front of him. He still couldn't believe that after everything that had happened to her that night, she was still in the middle of nowhere, talking to a guy she hardly knew.
  • "Go home now. I'm not who you think I am."
  • His last statement was an understatement, and Lisa also understood that, but she wasn't ready to go yet.
  • That stubborn part of her still wanted to spend more time with this mysterious man, who could carry two men in his hands at the same time and throw them away as if they were paper.
  • But her subconscious knew that was risky and it kept ringing it in her ears.
  • Lisa said, "Okay, I will if you will answer the question that I asked you earlier."
  • "And what question is that?"
  • "I asked you what your name is."
  • The man gave her a derisive smile and took a step closer to her.
  • "What's your own name?" He asked.
  • Lisa's stubborn part was infuriated at the man's derisive smile, and she glared at him and replied. "Lisa Thompson. Lisa Thompson is my name. What's yours? "
  • She stretched out her hand for a handshake.
  • The man looked down at Lisa's tiny hand, and his derisive smile became wider. He ruffled Lisa's hair, and he said, "Sorry Lisa, but I don't share my name with strangers" and walked past her the second he was done talking.
  • Lisa's eyebrows knitted together and her jaw dropped. She turned around and looked at the man, walking towards the club determinedly.
  • It's now or never. She thought. How dare he ruffle my hair like I'm ten years old.
  • The corner of her upper lip slightly opened in annoyance and she shouted. "Tell me your name."
  • The man slowed down his stride but didn't turn around. "Go home, Lisa. It's pretty late. "
  • "Go home, Lisa." She mimicked the man, annoyingly.
  • How could I be so stupid? I should have seen this coming.
  • She called out. "I won't go home unless you tell me your name!"
  • The man replied without stopping or turning. "Then, feel free to follow me back into the club."
  • It's okay now. Let's start heading home, " her subconscious said.
  • "No"Lisa said as she followed the man.
  • One way or the other, she was going to get his name.
