Chapter 8

  • "Don't you remember anything?" The man asked.
  • Lisa froze, looked into space and began to rack her brain. And after some seconds, she faced Ricardo and replied. "Nothing. I remember nothing."
  • The man scoffed, put down his leg, and said "You took it off by yourself. You said you were boiling in it."
  • Lisa's jaw dropped in disbelief, and her eyes became as round as saucers.
  • How could she do such a thing? She thought. Because she knew the type of girl she was. She was one of those girls that was ready to stay in one piece of clothing for years if it was going to protect her from men.
  • Ricardo rose on his feet and began to walk towards a door that Lisa hadn't noticed until now.
  • "Make sure you're fully dressed before I come back," the man said without looking at her.
  • He pressed the door handle and was about to open the door when her voice stopped him.
  • "Please, before you go";
  • "What?" He replied with his hand still on the door handle and without turning to look at her.
  • "Em..." She sighed heavily. She had no idea how to say what she was about to say, but she knew she had to say it one way or the other.
  • She swallowed her saliva and fixed her eyes on Ricardo's side view.
  • "When I pulled off my clothes..., did you see...... covered me with the blanket...... " she stuttered."
  • She knew she wasn't making any sense, but it wasn't her fault. It was because of an oath that she had made when she was a little girl.
  • At first, it was just a childish oath, but within a few years, it turned into something bigger than a childish oath, it turned into her motto.
  • Ricardo released the handle and turned around. He looked at the girl on the bed, whose face still needed some color, and replied. "Yes, I put the blanket on you when you began shaking on the bed."
  • He turned around immediately, pressed the door handle, opened the door and walked into the room.
  • Lisa's jaw dropped, her eyes widened, and she began to gasp.
  • "The oath! The oath! The oath! " started ringing in her head, and she began to shake her head in denial.
  • "No way. No way," she muttered. "Lisa, after all these years, how did this happen. How did you let this happen to you. Of all the men on Earth, why him? Why him? "
  • She sighed heavily in disbelief and started regretting the second she gave in to Summer's suggestion.
  • If only she had turned it down yesterday morning, she wouldn't be in this situation right now.
  • She heaved a heavy sigh, raised her head and closed her eyes.
  • "What am I going to do now?" She asked her subconscious.
  • Her subconscious replied, "That oath means everything to us."
  • When Lisa was ten, she had made an oath that the first man to see her full nakedness would be the man she would marry.
  • And right now, for the first time in ten years, she was regretting ever making that oath.
  • She heaved another sigh and dropped her head with her eyes still closed.
  • How was she supposed to marry that man who looked like the devil himself?
  • How could she take someone as dangerous as him to meet her parents?
  • If only she had known that this was how it was going to turn out. She bit her bottom lip in regret.
  • Finally, she came to a conclusion. She opened her eyes and thought. "Screw the oath. There is no way it's going to work out between us. "
  • She crawled to the foot of the bed where the gown was, picked it up, got out of the bed, and put it on.
  • She looked for her sneakers that were in one corner of the room, ran to the corner and slid them on.
  • She would rather run away than have to deal with a man whose blue eyes could turn her into an ice.
  • After putting on her sneakers, she scanned the room for her purse, which she spotted on a small couch. She ran there and was about to pick up the purse when her subconscious stopped her.
  • "That oath matters to us, Lisa," her subconscious said.
  • "Shut the fuck up," she said quietly, between gritted teeth.
  • "That oath is our everything, Lisa. We can't ignore the fact that he already saw our nakedness," her stubborn part said.
  • "There is no way I'm dealing with that man," she replied
  • "We're no cowards," her stubborn part said.
  • Lisa picked up her purse, started heading out of the room, and was about to unlock the door when both her subconscious and stubborn part began to echo in her head at the same time.
  • "We're no cowards! We're no cowards! We're no cowards!"
  • "All right, fine," Lisa said out loud, dropping her purse in annoyance."Okay, I understand. I'm staying. What else do you guys want?"
  • After a few minutes, she picked up her purse, walked to the couch that Ricardo had vacated some minutes ago and sat on it.
  • The second she heard the door handle being pressed, her stubborn part took over and she readied herself for the blue-eyed devil.
  • Lisa's jaw dropped in disbelief when Ricardo stepped inside the room in a crazy pair of jeans and a white top, because the man that was standing at the door was a hundred times cuter than the man she had seen some minutes ago.
  • His hair was combed sideways in an ordinary pattern that was supposed to give him an ordinary look, but it did the opposite of that.
  • Perplexedly, Lisa set her eyes on his huge masculine figure and unconsciously salivated.
  • "I'm ready to go," Ricardo said without looking in her direction, and walked out of the room.
  • "I'm also ready," she said, under her breath, and followed him.
  • Teasingly, Lisa looked at the man by her side as they were walking through a long hallway and said, "You still haven't told me your name."
  • "I don't share my name with strangers," he replied, without tilting his head in her direction.
  • Lisa hugged herself and stopped walking. "Even if you don't want to share your name with me, I already know it."
  • Ricardo stopped walking and tilted his head in her direction. For some reason, he found her funny and odd. Most people who knew him always tried to keep their distance from him. But not this girl. Not her. She was bold and wasn't even scared of him at all.
  • He gave her an amusing smile, which didn't quite reach his face, and said as he fixed his eyes on her. "I know you are desperate, but I'm a very busy man and I don't have time for this. Lisa, let's go. "
  • With a dareful smile on Lisa's face, she opened her mouth and said. "Ricardo"
