Chapter 2

  • "Easy girl. Easy" he said as he softly cleaned her lips.
  • "Thank you" Lisa said.
  • "It's okay" the man said and went back to his seat. "I'm Clifford by name" he added and stretched out his hand for an handshake.
  • Because of what the man had done for Lisa some seconds ago, Lisa had no other option than to chat with him even though she hadn't planned to chat with anybody at the club.
  • Lisa. She thought. This is going to be a long night.
  • She picked up her cocktail and drank everything in a chug.
  • "I'm Lisa," she replied and took the man's hand.
  • The man beamed, "It's nice meeting you" and they released each other. "I'm sorry for the way my friend acted earlier. He was drunk. I didn't send him here. I just told him that I liked you, and the next thing I knew, he was walking towards you"
  • "It's okay" Lisa said as she unconsciously lifted her wineglass to her mouth.
  • "It's empty" Clifford said as he pointed his second finger at the wineglass.
  • "What?"
  • "The wineglass" he replied.
  • "Oh," Lisa said embarrassingly and dropped the glass.
  • "I can order another one for you"
  • "You don't have to"
  • "I want to" he said as he gestured his head at a guy that was behind Lisa. "It's nothing. Clubbing is no fun without drinks"
  • The guy that Clifford had gestured at walked to their table and said "What would you care for?"
  • "Anything" Lisa replied.
  • "And you, sir?" The guy said as he tilted his head in Clifford's direction.
  • "Vodka Martini" he replied.
  • "Okay" the guy said and showed up a few minutes later with two glasses of Vodka Martini and cocktail"
  • "Enjoy" Clifford said as he took a sip out of his vodka.
  • "Thank you" Lisa said.
  • Clifford waved his hand discardedly, smiled at Lisa and said. "So, tell me about yourself"
  • They began to chat and within two hours, Clifford ordered another round of drinks.
  • "So, you just graduated out of..."
  • Lisa's phone buzzed at that second and she tipsily opened her purse and brought out her phone.
  • She used the back of her hand to wipe her eyes because she could hardly see the caller's ID.
  • Summer. She thought when she finally made out the name on her screen and picked up the call.
  • "Hey" she said into the phone.
  • "Hey babe" Summer replied. "I'm outta the club. We'll talk tomorrow morning"
  • Lisa's mouth dropped open, and it took her some seconds before she was able to close it back. "Wait, what?"
  • "I'm sorry, babe. We will talk tomorrow," Summer said and hung up the call.
  • Lisa looked at her screen to check the time, which was at 02:21 am, and decided that it was time for her to be heading home.
  • "What's wrong, beauty?" Clifford asked worriedly.
  • "I think I'll be going now" she said as she put her phone back inside her purse.
  • "Why? Don't you enjoy my company?"
  • "I enjoyed it, of course, but I have to be on my way now" she replied and rose on her feet.
  • "Let me give you a ride then"
  • "You don't have to" Lisa said while pointing her finger at nowhere in particular. "My apartment is just ten minutes away"
  • "It's late, and it's dangerous for a girl to be walking on the street alone. Let me accompany you"
  • "You don't have..."
  • He hushed her and said. "You're a girl. It's too dangerous"
  • Lisa shrugged and said. "Okay"
  • ~
  • The moment they left the club area, Lisa began to regret leaving. Because she was now stuck with a stranger whom she only knew by his name. That was if that was his real name.
  • "You said ten minutes, right?" Clifford asked.
  • "Six minutes now, I guess," Lisa replied.
  • The next second, she heard the footsteps of someone approaching them, and she hurriedly turned around to see who it was with her heart beating hard.
  • The road turned out empty, and she heaved a sigh of relief.
  • "What's wrong?" Clifford asked as he also turned around.
  • "I thought I heard someone's footsteps"
  • "You might have imagined it" Clifford said and got hold of her hand.
  • She tried to pull her hand out of his, but she was too weak.
  • "Let's go," Clifford said.
  • "But... You... don't... have...to... hold my hand" Lisa said carefully.
  • "But I want to" Clifford said firmly and wrapped his hand around her wrist until it began to hurt.
  • "Clifford, you're hurting me"
  • Clifford stopped walking with a sly smile on his face and said. "Don't worry, it's going to be over soon"
  • Lisa's heart and liver switched places the second she understood what Clifford was talking about, and her eyes widened in shock.
  • "Clifford... please," she pleaded.
  • Clifford hit her across the face twice before pulling her to a very dark corner.
  • "I love girls like you the most" he said as he roughly made her face the wall and pulled up her blue gown.
  • "Careless girls like you need to be taught a lesson"
  • Lisa began to shake in fear because of what was going to happen to her tonight.
  • "Please, don't do it. You can still stop now. I promise you that I won't tell anybody"
  • "Of course, you won't tell anybody" Clifford said as he pulled down his trouser and stroked himself a few times.
  • He spread her legs wide open, pulled her pants to the side and was about entering her when Lisa suspected that he was no longer standing behind her.
  • The next second, she heard a loud crash and followed by the sound of someone groaning in pain.
  • Lisa slowly turned around to see what was going on, and a smile creased her face when she saw a huge man approaching Clifford even though she had no idea who the man was.
