Chapter 29

  • Alita's eyes searched the bed for her phone. It must have gotten lost in the action. She spread her fingers on the bed and moved her hand around feeling for her phone. After a few frustrating swipes and hovers on the bed, she found her phone, double-tapped the screen and the screen lit up. She saw the time and felt her heart skip a beat. It was past the time she normally leaves with about two hours. She hissed and threw the phone away, her eyes followed it to see where it landed because she didn't want to look for it again.
  • She usually called Sarah to tell her she wasn't coming home so she knew Sarah would be wondering why she wasn't home yet. Alita hadn't planned to but the only reasonable thing to do was a sleepover at Benson's and not go home.
  • She was dazed about what had just happened and her usual over analytic self was preying on her at the moment.
