• My heart was pounding hard, and I was sure this wolf would find me no matter what I did to hide. It attacked several things in the house to catch me, but I was able to get away, so its growl got louder. I hid behind the ample cabinet and writhed in agony from a leg injury. I also saw the blood on the plant that Jasper put there. I put my hand over my mouth so I wouldn't scream or let out a weak moan that the wolf might hear.
