• Emily wasn’t wearing her wedding ring. He kind of felt hurt but he knew that in the beginning it wasn’t a matter to him because their marriage was never real, it was only an agreement between the two of them. They only put it on when they went to his parents’ house.
• Then when he discovered that he has started loving Emily he looked for the ring and placed it on his finger partly because he wanted something that belonged to Emily to be part of him and also to keep away women who would lust after his looks.
• “Why are you frowning like that Richard, is there something wrong?”
