Chapter 33

• I woke up feeling tense, my body restless as if I had carried some invisible weight from my dreams into the waking world. The vision I’d experienced in my sleep hadn’t felt like a typical dream it had felt like a memory. But not mine. It was as though someone had granted me access to fragments of their past, letting me watch moments that were never meant for my eyes. It felt real. Too real.
• In the dream, I’d seen Sibilla meeting Gosto for the first time. The memory or whatever it was had wrapped around me so tightly that it felt like I’d traveled through time and space just to stand in the shadows of their moment. And yet, watching them together had unsettled me in a way I couldn’t explain. I didn’t understand why I had to see it. Was it because I’d thought of her before falling asleep? Was my curiosity to blame?
• If that was the case, it had only left me with more questions than before.
