Chapter 7
- Chapter Seven
- Ciara's POV
- it's been two days since I moved into Orion's house and I already feel suffocated and unwelcome. Well, what was I expecting? The man didn't like me and he was my mate! It was in situations such as this that I found myself questioning the reason why I was weak and why I had been born an Omega.
- But did being an Omega officially qualify me as unlovable? Did the status Omega mean I was somehow less than these other wolves? Lucas had left me for my stronger best friend, Bella and now even my mate wanted another woman. Why? Because I was too weak for him. His obsession with Sophia has me wondering about the kind of relationship they had. If he was this crazy about Sophia, why did she still run off with her boyfriend, James? Or was that an indication that she didn't feel the same way he did? There were so many questions running through my head but I chucked them down as I walked towards the door.
- After the little scene Orion made over the pictures, I had made it my mission to avoid the room at all cost except I had to sleep which was in the night. Once it was morning, I made my way to the kitchen to be useful or to the training ground. The kitchen staff and the servants were much nicer to me than Orion and his family had been to me since I arrived here.
- Sad right?
- With a sigh, I turned the doorknob and stepped out into the cold air taking in the cool breeze. I let it fill my lungs as I mentally prepared myself for my training today. Spencer wasn't going to go easy on me even if I was his future. If anything, this was the right time for him to increase my training because who would want a weak Luna in their pack?
- I sighed and opened my eyes walking briskly towards the large field where we usually had the training. I wonder now why I had never run into Orion before considering I had been training here since I moved to Grandpa's house.
- Thinking about the reason for my move left a bitter taste in my mouth so I brushed it off. I didn't need anything dampening my mod today. I was optimistic that training would go well today because Bella wasn't going to trouble me after Orion warned me the last time. Or so I thought.........As soon as I arrived on the field I realized three things; one, I was late, two,
- Spencer had paired everyone up today for some kind of new strategy he wanted to teach us and three; Bella was going to be my partner because when I got there, she was the only one who wasn't paired up. Spencer signaled for me to get in and I quickly made my way over to join everyone. Some gave me weird looks that had me looking down at my clothes and questioning my decision to wear a baggy top and a pair of shorts. I ignored them as I stood at the back, avoiding Bella's eyes.
- I could feel those round eyes of her boring holes in my back and wondered what it was she was looking at or looking for. Knowing Bella she was probably looking for a way to taunt me and put me on the spot.
- Not today devil.
- "Alright, take your positions and face your partner," Spencer instructed looking around as everyone did as he had said. I shivered as I turned to face Bella wondering how this was all going to play out. Did I have to get stuck with her?"Ciara?" Spencer called, pulling me out of my thoughts and I happily ended the staring contest Bella and I had started. "You're with me today. Bella can practice on her own."His words lifted the invisible weights on my shoulders and without waiting for him to change his mind, I ran towards him not caring how ridiculous I looked.
- I'd pick getting stuck in a room with Orion over being around Bella. Even though Orion was repulsed by the mere sight of me, at least the mate bond and his wolf wanted me. Bella was a poisonous snake that killed her prey with one quick bite. The farther I was from her, the better.
- "Alright," Spencer said, giving me a nod. "Let's begin.
- ***
- Two hours later, I slumped on the ground aching all over. It felt like a big train had run over me and broken every single bone in my body. I groaned as I eased into a sitting position, favoring my left side.
- Spencer was known for his expertise but this time, he had gone overboard. Perhaps being his partner had been a bad idea although now that I think about it, being Bella's partner wouldn't have worked in my favour either. Bella would have used the opportunity to torture me. With a sigh and a moan, I struggled to rise to my feet falling a few times.
- "Let me help you," I heard and then a shadow fell over me.
- Frowning, I looked up and found myself ogling a handsome guy. I had never seen him around her before or I would have recognized him. His hand was stretched out to me so I took it, bumping into him as I made it to my feet which caused me to lose my balance. Once again, he came to my rescue and prevented me from kissing the floor. I blushed as I looked down at my feet wondering why I was suddenly feeling shy.
- "Thanks for helping me," I said, avoiding his gaze and I heard him chuckle, causing my blush to deepen."You're welcome, Luna.
- "The use of that title caused me to look up but he was already walking away and I didn't get the chance to ask him any questions."I didn't even get his name," I muttered, disappointed and confused at his last statement. He had called me Luna. Only members of the Silver Moon Pack knew about me and my new position. Or had he been at the coronation ceremony?
- I suddenly got the feeling that I wasn't alone. Looking back, I muttered a curse as I spied the last person I wanted to see standing right there."Ciara,"
- "Lucas,"
