Chapter 6

• “Where are you going to?”, Elena shouted.
• She had insisted on following him just to know why he asked her to leave earlier.
• She wanted to know what exactly the problem was.
• “Harrison stops the car”, she screamed at top of her voice.
• With his speed, she could hardly open her eyes.
• She said her last prayer and wished that she would live longer to spend time with Jason.
• Suddenly the car stopped and Elena solely opened her eyes wondering if she was still alive or not.
• “Why did you stop in front of a hospital?”, she asked perplexed.
• Harrison just came down ignoring all her questions but she followed.
• “Where’s he?”, he asked Tom, Paul and Tony.
• “He’s in the emergency room”, they replied and he broke down.
• Sammy has been the closest to him ever since he joined red dragons. He was more than a friend to him.
• Harrison stared at him through the door, it was unbearable for Harrison.
• Elena just watched Harrison in a confused state. She didn’t understand what was going on.
• She didn’t know who the three guys Harrison met and the person in the emergency room.
• “How did this happen?”, he asked ad he tried to hold his tears.
• He didn’t want to break into tears when he is supposed to be the strongest among them.
• “I don’t know why but the black jaguars found out that Sammy was a spy. He was tortured and then shot. Tom and I tried to rescue him but he was already shot”, Paul explained.
• “Black jaguars? Spy? Shot?”, Elena wondered what it had to do with Harrison.
• “Who is Sammy?” was the question on her mind.
• “Why did you leave him without back up Tony?”, Harrison said holding him tightly by his collar.
• “I won’t forgive you if anything happens to him”, Harrison said to Tony.
• Harrison was later allowed to see Sammy. By then Tony, Tom and Paul had gone.
• Harrison sat beside him praying for his recovery. He blamed himself for not being there for him.
• Sammy has always supported him but he hasn’t done anything to support him too.
• Elena stood outside wondering when Harrison was going to come out. She thought of entering but considering his mood right now, it won’t end well.
• **Minutes later**
• Harrison came out and Elena followed him silently. She does not want him to remember that she had followed him here.
• The drive back home was a bit slow, he wasn’t speeding like before and Elena was relieved.
• Harrison went to his room immediately and shut the door. Elena had so many questions on her mind but it will be useless to ask him because he wouldn’t reply and she does not want to care.
• Her phone rang and it was Mrs Evelyn that was the caller.
• She is worried but Elena wasn’t in the mood to talk after the long day.
• She ignored the call and went to her room. Whoever Sammy is, Elena knew that he was very very important to Harrison.
• The word shot keeps ringing in her ears.
• “Is Harrison a gangster?”, she wondered.
• Harrison came out of his room to get a drink. Well, he does that almost every time but he met Elena there.
• “Why are you leaving?”, he asked when Elena started to leave when she saw him.
• “I thought you would like to be alone”
• “No…… it’s ok. You can leave if you don’t feel comfortable with me”, he said.
• She wanted to leave because truly she doesn’t feel comfortable with him but somehow she hoped that he would explain everything to her.
• “Why don’t you eat, do you just drink?”, she summoned the courage to ask.
• That is one of the questions on her mind.
• He took a sip of his drink and then answered.
• “I am not used to eating since I was young”
• Elena found it amusing but he said it with seriousness.
• The silence became deafening.
• “Don’t tell anyone about today”
• Elena just nodded without any further questions.
• “You are lucky you have people who care about you”, he said.
• “Everyone does”, she replied but he shook his head in disagreement.
• “Not everyone”
• “You have your parents, uncle, aunt and Jason”, Elena Saud and he scoffed.
• “Take don’t just sit down without drinking”, Harrison said handing a drink to her.
• She wanted to refuse since she gets drunk quickly but she didn’t want to ruin the conversation.
• “After a few drinks, Elena was already drunk and couldn’t even walk properly.
• “Go to your room it’s late”, he said tapping her but she was feeling tipsy.
• She struggled to get up but she wasn’t able to walk.
• Harrison didn’t want to help her but maybe because he was in sorrow.
• He supported her by placing his hand on her waist.
• He took her to her room and dropped her on her bed but she drew him closer to herself.
• “You are so handsome, I think I like you”, she said and smiled but Harrison only stared at her.
• He tried to remove her grip on his cloth but instead, she kissed him and his struggle stopped immediately.
• Maybe because he was not thinking straight, he kissed her back.
• The kiss was getting intense. Then gradually Harrison came back to his senses.
• He withdrew when he remembered that she was drunk and nothing must happen between them.
• “Jason please don’t leave, I love you”, she mumbled and Harrison stopped immediately.
• That was the lady thing, he would want to hear in his life.
• “She loves Jason?”, he wondered.
• “That must not happen, Jason and Elena can’t be together”.
• One thing worried Harrison “Jason loved Elena too”.

• ** A Few days later **
• Harrison left for the office as usual and Elena left to meet Jason at their normal spot, the midnight kiss bar.
• Just as they were discussing Trisha, Gracie and Mia appeared and they spotted Elena immediately.
• “Hi”, Trisha greeted Jason.
• “Hi”, he replied.
• “Hi”, Mia said almost rude. She happens to dislike Jason already.
• Gracie didn’t bother to greet him at all, it was obvious she didn’t like him too.
• “Am Trisha, Elena’s friend”, she introduced herself and Mia rolled her eyes at Trisha
• “I am Jason”
• “Why didn’t you tell us you were coming here?”, Mia frowned at Elena.
• “You were always hanging out without me, so I thought I was not needed any longer”, she explained.
• “You are our best friend for goddess' sake”, Mia said.
• “Where did you say my meeting is?”, Harrison asked Lisa.
• “Midnight kiss bar”, she replied.
• “Why is it a bar and not a restaurant? Why did you agree to the meeting?’, he snapped at Lisa who was looking so tired.
• “Am sorry sir”, she apologized
• “You keep apologizing, don’t you have anything else to say? Anyways cancel the meeting”, he ordered.
• “Sir this meeting is very important, it is a new contract”, Lisa reminded him.
• “OK then prepare the car and everything for the meeting”, he said reluctantly.
• “Don’t miss anything”, he stated.
• As Harrison entered the bar, his eyes met that of Jason and then Elena.
• Seeing them together annoyed him. After warning Elena, she didn’t listen.
• No wonder she called his name yesterday.
• Harrison wondered if she remembered yesterday.
• Harrison walked straight to their table in annoyance. Elena could see it clearly on his face but Jason held her hand to calm her down.
• Gracie drooled over him while Mia remained normal but according to her expression, it’s obvious she prefers Harrison to Jason.
• “What are you doing here?”, he asked calmly and Elena didn’t need to be told that he was talking to her.
• “It’s none of your business”, Jason replied but Harrison just ignored him like he didn’t hear him.
• “Answer me!”, he said with a very thick voice.
• “I…... . I just came to hang out with my friends, she stammered.
• “When did Jason become your part of your friends?”
• “Harrison you have no right to question her because you are nobody to her”, Jason spoke up.
• “Let’s go home”, he said sternly and Elena stood up immediately but Jason held her hand stopping her from moving.
• “She’s not going with you”, Jason stated.
• “Jason let go of her……. I don’t want what happened to Sara to happen again”, he said and Jason laughed.
• It was a laugh of mockery.
• “It has happened already, Sara chose me and not you before she found out that you are just good for nothing and the same goes for Elena. She loves me and not you”, he said.
• “Sara is my past, Elena is my present. Let go of her!”, Harrison Said holding Elena’s second hand and drawing her to himself.
• “You forced Sara to love you and she died because of you and now you want to force Elena”, Jason fired.
• “Elena, who are you choosing to go with? Me or Harrison?”, Jason asked.
• Elena just stared at the both of them confused. Harrison is her husband and Jason is the person she likes.
• “Harrison let go of me!”, Elena said facing him. He didn’t at first but she jerked at hands-off.
• “You see Harrison you are a pathetic loser but you don’t deserve any pity or sympathy. I can’t believe that you want Elena to love you desperately just because you claim to be alone”, Jason said but Harrison said nothing and that surprised Harrison.
• After she chose Jason, she began to regret it immediately but she already did.
• “Mr Harrison McCall I think you are at the wrong place, I think you need security to see you out”, Jason said and Harrison gritted his teeth.
• He took the glass of wine and broke it. He wanted to punch Jason in the face but he restrained himself.
• Elena sensed hurt on his face but the only thing she felt for him is pity.
• Harrison left the bar immediately, he didn’t even attend the meeting he was supposed to. He asked Lisa to postpone it.
• “Thanks for choosing me”, Jason said smiling.
• “You don’t need to thank me”, she replied.
• “You are not the Elena I knew before. For goodness sake he’s your husband, if you don’t love him then it’s simple to file for a divorce. I think what you need was unfair”, Mia said and left angrily
• “Mia!!!”, she called but Mia didn’t answer.
• Gracie followed Mia and then Trisha.
• “I’m sorry for what happened”, he apologized.
• “Who is Sara?”, she asked.
• “My ex”, he replied.
• “Where’s she? And what happened to her?”, she questioned.
• “She’s dead and she died because of Harrison. She dated Harrison for a while and then broke up with him and came to me but Harrison didn’t want to let her go and after a while, I was told that she committed suicide because of Harrison”, he explained and she gasped.
• “Committed suicide? But why?”
• “Probably because Harrison was forcing himself on her or because he was threatening her and she got tired”, he replied.
• “But I don’t think he can do something like that”, Elena said.
• “You know nothing about Harrison, he’s dangerous. I will advise you to leave him one time because something bad happens to you”, he said and Elena’s mind went to those times he mentioned something about danger.
• Her mind went to what happened at the hospital. She heard something like black jaguars, spy and shot.
• “What if he is an assassin?”, she asked no one in particular.
• “Please stay away from Harrison, he’s more dangerous than you think. If you need my help anytime just call me”, he said and Elena nodded.
• Though she is afraid of Harrison he doesn’t look dangerous or like a gangster.
• Elena was beginning to change her mind about Harrison but with what she heard, she doesn’t know if he was the sane Harrison anymore.
• Just immediately the memory of yesterday flashed into her mind.
• She had kissed him and had mentioned Jason in her sleep.
• She gasped when she remembered.
• “How stupid of her to drink”
• “What am I going to do now?”
• ….
