  • As one of the housemaid set a cup of tea in front of me, I muttered a polite 'thank you.' She vowed and then walked out from the living room I was sitting in. The scent of bergamot rose from the delicate porcelain cup, but even its warmth couldn’t untangle the knots in my stomach.
  • I leaned back slightly, letting my eyes drift around the room. It was exactly the same as it’s always been. The gilded mirror above the fireplace, the heavy drapes framing the tall windows, the polished mahogany furniture that gleamed under the soft glow of the chandelier.
