• Edith's POV:
• I had been so sure of my decision about abortion just days ago. Even I couldn't imagine raising an illegal child, especially a mobster's child. But suddenly something changed. The more I thought about it, the more the idea of getting rid of this little life growing inside me gnawed at something deeper.
• Lastly, I couldn't bring myself to go to the hospital. I just couldn't shake off the fear of losing this small life growing inside me. Because for the first time, I had something that was truly mine.
