Chapter 83 Know Thy Mate

• Melissa sat on a reclining chair, her left leg stretched out as Candice carefully clipped off her nails. She'd been doing it herself when her maids had walked in and bullied her into giving it up. Richard had advised her to just relax and let them work. It had been three days since she was shot and she'd not had so much as a day off since then.
• She had to check on all her council members, one after the other. Some of them were threatened while for some, she just tried to check on their health. She'd fought the Infernal again on the phone. That insufferable man had said she'd staged the whole thing, and she accused him of trying to assassinate her and he claimed he wished he had but he wouldn't spend an ounce of resource on a weakling like her.
