Chapter 43 Dangerous Game

• Melissa sprinted through the dark streets, her heart pounding in her chest. She could hear Lucas cursing and stumbling after her, his voice filled with anger and desperation. But she refused to let fear consume her. She knew she had to keep running, to find a place of safety.
• As Melissa turned a corner, she spotted a park up ahead. Without hesitation, she veered towards it, hoping that the open space would give her a chance to escape. She could feel her legs burning, her lungs gasping for air, but she pushed herself to keep going.
• Just as Melissa reached the entrance of the park, she felt a strong grip on her arm, yanking her back. It was Lucas, his face contorted with rage. He tightened his grip, his voice low and menacing. "Running away won't save you, Melissa. You belong to me."
