Chapter 14 Take It as a Plea From Me

  • Bai Ruoxi rushed back to her room and stood at the mirror to look at her reflection. That embarrassed and shy self of hers looked like a fool.
  • She placed her hands on her rosy cheeks and felt her body burned as she lightly breathed.
  • It was inconvenient to live together after all. They would surely meet under the same roof. She would suffer even more after he married Yin Rui in the future.
  • Bai Ruoxi slapped her cheeks with force and breathed a deep sigh of helplessness before she started muttering to herself.
  • "Ruoxi, Ruoxi. Hurry up and wake up. That man isn't someone in your league. Stop daydreaming and quickly find the murderer to prove your mother's innocence. That way, you can leave here faster and end your misery earlier."
  • -
  • Dika.
  • This building was a high-class place.
  • Inside was a place of entertainment that required extremely extravagant spending. They only accepted people with membership and refused individual customers. The membership cost a million per year.
  • With a membership fee of a million annually, those who were members of this place was definitely people of a different league. Many owners of small and medium enterprises could not even earn a million per year, much less ordinary people.
  • Bai Ruoxi had once again followed Tang Lide and arrived at Dika. Unfortunately, the receptionist has rejected her entrance.
  • There was a large antique vase outside the French glass window on the sixth floor. Bai Ruoxi hid behind the vase as a cover-up. She leaned her back against the glass window and quietly waited.
  • The leaden sky outside had light rain pattering which moistened the earth. The air was very humid, one could tell that spring was coming.
  • Very few people would come to Dika but those who enter were normally famous figures in the political or business world.
  • Time ticked past as Bai Ruoxi squatted and stood. Both of her legs were numb and she had hidden for over two hours.
  • A familiar figure came into view suddenly which made Bai Ruoxi tensed.
  • She thought she had seen wrongly and quickly peeked from behind the vase with her eyebrows wrinkled.
  • Yin Rui wore a mink fur overcoat which was noble yet elegant. She was walking out side-by-side with Tang Lide while chatting merrily.
  • Was it only a coincidence?
  • The Yin family was also one of the top noble family. Their family business was very large, it was normal for Yin Rui to appear at such high-class places.
  • But why did she know Tang Lide? And from the looks of them having a happy conversation, they seemed to be very familiar with each other.
  • Tang Lide and Yin Rui left together.
  • Bai Ruoxi was full of suspicions and secretly tailed them. She took the second lift down.
  • When she arrived at the hall entrance, she only saw the sole figure of Yin Rui waving her hands at the door while the car Tang Lide got in had just driven off.
  • “Yin Rui.” Bai Ruoxi walked behind her and directly called her.
  • Yin Rui turned around hurriedly and she froze the moment she saw Bai Ruoxi. However, she reacted very quickly and asked her with doubt, “Ruoxi, so you were also here. How come I didn’t bump into you just now?”
  • Bai Ruoxi did not want to answer her. She stared at her eyes calmly and observed her facial expressions. She asked solemnly and seriously, “You know Tang Lide?”
  • Yin Rui did not bat an eyelid and answered very casually, “Yes, he’s a film director at my sister’s company. I have met him before at many dinner parties but we are not very close.”
  • Bai Ruoxi wanted to know if she was lying but Yin Rui was too undisturbed and did not look like she was telling lies.
  • “You asked him out and came here together...” Before Bai Ruoxi finished her question, Yin Rui quickly denied it.
  • “I did not ask him out. I came here by myself to Dika for the spa. I’m getting married next time so I came here to do treatments every day recently. I happened to meet him inside so we chatted for a bit.”
  • Bai Ruoxi’s heart sank again. She was reminded of those hurtful matters that she had just forgotten, she did not have the mood to investigate anymore.
  • Yin Rui hurriedly approached her and smiled at her while asking with her eyebrows knitted, “Ruoxi, are you a member of Dika? Let’s come here for beauty services together in the future,”
  • “I’m not.” Bai Ruoxi responded with indifference.
  • Her yearly salary was less than ten thousand a year. A membership fee of a million at Dika was simply beyond her means.
  • Yin Rui’s smile carried doubt, her eyebrows knitted in bafflement, “Why are you here if you don’t have a membership?”
  • Bai Ruoxi turned silently and continued to stare at her quietly.
  • Yin Rui touched her cheeks and revealed a cute smile. Her eyes were full of kindness as she asked, “If you keep looking at me like this, I will think that you have also fallen in love with me. How scary.”
  • Bai Ruoxi could not hold back and laugh slightly at Yin Rui’s actions. She really could not suspect a best friend who she knew for over twenty years.
  • Yin Rui held Bai Ruoxi’s hand after seeing her smile, “Ruoxi, let me help you get a membership. We can come here together in the future for the beauty services, gym, and all the leisure services here would be free.”
  • “There’s no need,” Bai Ruoxi panicked and pushed her away quickly, “I don’t want this kind of membership.”
  • “No big deal, I will pay for you,” Yin Rui did not stand on ceremony and pulled her along.
  • Bai Ruoxi was frantic and pushed her hand away powerfully. She did not want to owe anyone one hundred, let alone a million.
  • “Yin Rui, there’s really no need. I don’t need this kind of membership.”
  • Yin Rui’s face darkened, “Are you looking down on me?”
  • Bai Ruoxi took a deep breath and bit her lips, “I’m not looking down on you. Money may be nothing to you but you have to consider my wishes too. I don’t want the membership. Please respect my choice,”
  • Yin Rui pouted, “You looked quite gentle and weak, but your personality is quite stubborn, and you have a bit of a temper. I am really getting nowhere with you.”
  • This was called having principles.
  • Bai Ruoxi did not want to explain too much to her.
  • The rain became heavier and the wind became colder, an iciness mixed into the air.
  • At this moment, an eye-catching military vehicle stopped at the entrance.
  • Both Yin Rui and Bai Ruoxi saw the car and also recognized it instantly.
  • Yin Rui glanced outside with glee and she quickly held Bai Ruoxi's hand, "Ruoxi, my husband came to pick me up. Let's leave together in the car."
  • Husband?
  • This word was like a sharp needle that jabbed Bai Ruoxi ruthlessly. She slowly withdrew her stiffened hand from Yin Rui's hands.
  • Were they not getting married until next month?
  • They were already addressing each other as husband and wife now?
  • Her heart felt crushed by a heavy boulder. Bai Ruoxi had difficulties breathing but she still forced a smile as she said, "There's no need. He came to pick you up. Hurry along, don't make him wait for too long,"
  • Yin Rui smiled happily, "It's fine. He has already waited for me for so many years anyway, it doesn't matter if he has to wait now."
  • Bai Ruoxi forced a slight smile but she knew how stiff her face was and she could feel the pain in her heart.
  • She did not know whether Yin Rui was doing it unintentionally or on purpose but her words would always stab her heart like a knife and turn it into a bloody mess each time.
  • "It's still drizzling outside. Let's leave together," Yin Rui held Bai Ruoxi's hand again.
  • Bai Ruoxi's icy cold fingers in Yin Rui's hand stiffened. She withdrew her hand while trembling. This time, her attitude became firm as she reproached her coldly, "Don't bother me. Take it as a plea from me."
  • After finishing this sentence, she lowered her gaze to mask the tears in her eyes.
  • Yin Rui could hear the anger in her tone and also see her despair.
  • Anyone who was not an idiot could feel her low spirits. Yin Rui shrugged her shoulders and sighed lightly. She pretended that she did not know her emotions and turned around to walk to the car at the entrance silently.
  • Yin Rui pulled the door open and entered the car.
