Chapter 12 Supper

  • Yin Yin mumbled, “It’s a young idol who just turned twenty. The male lead of the movie we are currently preparing for,”
  • “Do you have a photo? I want to see what type of men little sister likes,” Qiao Xuanpu did not have the intention of eating anymore as he questioned his beloved wife quickly and happily. He radiated the emotions of a mother-in-law.
  • Yin Yin rolled her eyes at him and took her phone out unwillingly. She muttered a sentence, “You are so nosy.”
  • After that, she handed over the photo on the screen to Qiao Xuanpu.
  • Qiao Xuanpu looked at the photo, and his eyebrows furrowed. His facial expression had also changed. He pushed his spectacles as he murmured in bafflement, “What kind of eyes does little sister have? Does she like this kind of guy? He is skinnier than me and looked as if he could be blown away by a gust of wind. An oval face with devastating beauty. If he had long hair, I would have thought that he is a beautiful woman.”
  • Yin Yin snorted in cold laughter, “Hah. A lot of women now like young idols,”
  • Qiao Xuanpu looked at Yin Yin with seriousness, “What about you?”
  • Yin Yin replied without care, “If we are talking about personality, I like you the most. If we are talking about looks, only those types like Xuanshuo are true men...”
  • Yin Yin and Qiao Xuanpu’s gaze shifted to the opposite while talking, but the chair was empty. The person had already gone and left half a bowl of soup unfinished.
  • “Where is Xuanshuo?” Qiao Xuanpu was astonished.
  • Qiao Yichuan pointed at the second floor, “He walked off with a grim expression,”
  • Everyone looked at each other in dismay.
  • They did not reach any conclusion.
  • They started eating while discussing the new word- young idol.
  • -
  • It was the first time Bai Ruoxi experienced what following celebrity was like since she was born. It turned out that they followed after the celebrity by harassing them from behind. She finally got off the car after much difficulty, but she was pulled into the idol’s concert by those students who were as passionate as fire.
  • She paid half a month of her salary to go in and listened to a night full of wails and howls, seen a bunch of people dancing messily. She really did not know how to appreciate those dance that looked as though they have been possessed by demons. Furthermore, she also did not appreciate those rappers and hip-hop songs that sounded like chanting Buddhist scriptures.
  • The most critical blow was that the girls in her surroundings had lost their common sense. She had almost turned deaf from their shrieks.
  • It was already very late at night when she had reached home. She was tired and hungry as she dragged her exhausted body to the kitchen. She groped in the dark and pulled the fridge open.
  • The fridge had everything one can think of.
  • She took out two squares of bread to stuff in her mouth and she flung the fridge door close.
  • The moment she turned around, she slammed into a wall of flesh, “Hmm?” It was so painful that she gave off a frail noise from her throat. Her heart beat wildly in fright as she stuck close to the fridge with fear and lifted her head.
  • The structure of the kitchen could be seen as the moonlight shone in from the windows. However, the dark shadow stood with the back to the light and blocked all of the light rays.
  • Although she could not see the person’s face clearly, she could analyze that there were only three people in the family who were five feet and nine inches tall. However, there was only one person with this well-built perfect physique and pectoral muscles that were as solid as rocks.
  • And that was the man she was most scared of- Qiao Xuanshuo.
  • She was frantic when she saw him in broad daylight, much less at night when it felt even more sinister, terrifying, and extremely dangerous.
  • Bai Ruoxi was so scared that her knees weakened. Her whole body was so stiff that she could not move. She bit the bread as her big eyes stared at this shadow nervously. It was like meeting a wild leopard late at night, if she moved slightly, she would be immediately bitten to death at the neck and become a dish on the table.
  • The dark shadow stared at her for a while and suddenly reached his hands out.
  • Bai Ruoxi shut her eyes closed in fright. She shrank back and shivered. She wanted to scream but she could not bear to part with the bread in her mouth.
  • She struggled internally. What does he want? What in the world is he doing? Murder and dismember the corpse? Or did he want to beat her up in the dark? Has he discovered that she had followed Tang Lide and wanted to punish her?
  • The man’s hand touched her shoulder. In that instant, it was as though she was struck by lightning. However, her stiffened body was pushed away fiercely before she could react. The man coldly spat out a sentence.
  • “Stop blocking.”
  • The boorish man pushed Bai Ruoxi so hard that she staggered forward and lied on the kitchen table. Her stomach ached painfully from the slam. It was clear that the crudeness that man had treated her with was not normal.
  • However, she heaved a sigh of relief.
  • It turned out that he only wanted to open the fridge.
  • Bai Ruoxi took the bread out and turned around after she stood steadily. She looked at Qiao Xuanshuo who opened the fridge while rubbing her stomach.
  • The light from the fridge lit up the area. He was dressed casually, graceful, and handsome. He was not as dignified and more casual. However, his icy cold attitude was the same as ever.
  • “Xuanshuo, why didn’t you turn on the lights?” Bai Ruoxi’s voice had a hint of displeasure.
  • “Why don’t you turn the lights on?” Qiao Xuanshuo took something out from the fridge without even looking at her.
  • Bai Ruoxi placed down her hand that was rubbing her stomach angrily. So what if he had seen it? There was no need for her to be pretentious when this man would never apologize.
  • Although she was upset, she resigned to her fate and walked to switch the lights on.
  • The big and magnificent kitchen brightly lit up in an instant.
  • Bai Ruoxi turned to leave tactfully. She did not dare to offend him and could not afford to offend him either.
  • The man suddenly spoke with a commanding tone, “Where is the pan? Search for it.”
  • Bai Ruoxi was startled. She turned around discovered Qiao Xuanshuo had already closed the fridge. He had his back toward her and stood still in front of the stove.
  • Bai Ruoxi knew that the man was asking her since there were only the two of them here.
  • Except, the position of the pan was very obvious. Was there a need to ask her?
  • Bai Ruoxi stuffed the bread in her mouth again and walked over to pass him the frying pan.
  • “Spatula,” The man bossed her around coldly after taking the pan.
  • Bai Ruoxi turned around again to take the spatula.
  • “Knife, chopping board,”
  • “Oil,”
  • “Salt,”
  • “Water...”
  • “...”
  • Every time she wanted to walk away, she was always made to go back with his shouts.
  • Bai Ruoxi was so angry that she pulled the remaining half of her bread and threw it into the rubbish bin. She slightly panted as she asked, “Don’t you have eyes and hands? Why do you keep commanding me? Is there anyone who would torment people like you? Please say what you want all at one go,”
  • Qiao Xuanshuo did not listen to what she said at all as though a gust of wind has passed by. He said indifferently, “Plate,”
  • “You...”
  • Bai Ruoxi was so angry that she gnashed her teeth. He was too much... Even if she was forced at gunpoint, she would not help him anymore. She could not continue to let him boss her around with no moral backbone.
  • A fragrance assaulted her nostrils as the pan lid was lifted. Bai Ruoxi had just made up her mind but her stomach failed her and made a noise.
  • She found a plate and passed it to him hurriedly. She stared at what was inside the pan.
  • The pan only had normal noodles, but the color and luster were very alluring, and the fragrance spread throughout the room. There was at least seven to eight of the fried egg that she loved the most. There were meat, vegetable, and noodles along with the fried egg that was boiled inside the pot of milky white thick soup.
  • Her temper had disappeared instantly as she swallowed her saliva.
  • “Xuanshuo, you cooked so much for supper. Can you finish it?” She was hungry and she did not have any strength, much less moral backbone.
  • “No.”
  • Qiao Xuanshuo filled his bowl and carried it to the small dining table at the side before sitting down.
  • This time, Bai Ruoxi did not wait for his orders and found the chopsticks. She passed it to him with both of her hands. Her voice also turned gentle, “If you cannot finish, can you give me a portion?”
  • Qiao Xuanshuo took the chopsticks and ignored her. He pressed down on the table and started to eat his noodles. He was very aloof akin to an iceberg.
  • She had already become so gentle and pleasant yet he did not have a heart of affection.
  • How very, very hurting.
  • There were a lot of people in the Qiao family who doted on her, and there were also a lot who disliked her. However, there was no one as heartless and indifferent as him who rejected people coldly.
  • She breathed deeply. She muttered with low spirits, “I will take it as you agreed if you don’t speak up.”
