Chapter 10 Learning People

• For the first several days, I had lurked in the words beyond Emily’s hut. Wanting to be sure of the decision I was making.
• I still had a deep inclination to kill her and her lover for their disloyalty. But I’d managed to convince myself that she wasn’t worth it. Explaining to myself that she obviously did not view loyalty the same way I did.
• I saw men entering her hut. Different ones each night. Then soon I would catch a whiff of them having sex, hear the faint sounds of her and whatever male she’d summoned that night. I tortured myself night after night. Desiring her, only to listen to her with a series of men.
