Chapter 5 Recovery

  • Right now, is she actually asking me if I’m okay? Isn’t that simply nonsensical?
  • “I-I’m sorry! Sob, sob… I-I was scared… I… Sob, sob… I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to! But, I couldn’t control myself! I-I was scared…” Suzy sobbed.
  • Lewis fell silent after seeing her in this state. Indeed, she was a pampered lady born with a silver spoon in her mouth. There was no way she had ever encountered such terrifying monsters! It would be weirder if she wasn’t scared.
  • “That’s enough. It’s alright now. Still, I’m not sure if the rest of the monsters would come back. First, can you open the medical kit? Check if there’s any disinfecting alcohol. Then, use some gauze dipped in alcohol to disinfect my wounds!” He took in a deep breath, then hurriedly took off his clothes.
  • “Huh? Oh! O-Okay!” She hastily nodded, then tremblingly brought the medical kit over. Using gauze dipped in alcohol, she slowly cleaned his wounds for him.
  • “Use the disinfecting alcohol sparingly. It’s fine to just disinfect the wounds. Don’t mind the rest!” he anxiously said when he noticed that she was about to clean the area surrounding his wound.
  • “But—” Suzy wanted to say something, only to be interrupted by Lewis, who said, “But what? We don’t know what else will happen in the coming future. So, use it as sparingly as you can!”
  • “Then, please endure it—Ah…” She had yet to finish her sentence when he yelped out in pain. Although he yelped loudly, his left shoulder did not budge at all.
  • “Why are you blanking out? Hurry up!” he retorted when she stopped moving.
  • “Oh!”
  • Three minutes later, Suzy finally finished helping Lewis disinfect his wounds.
  • “Pour some amoxicillin on the wound, cover the entire thing with gauze, then fix it in place with tape!” he instructed.
  • “Um… Are we not using any other medicine?” she asked weakly.
  • “Get a move on! Why do you have so much nonsense to say?” he bluntly said; he couldn’t be bothered to hold a conversation with her.
  • “Oh!” She nodded and moved her hands again.
  • Ten minutes later, Lewis’ shoulder was properly bandaged. However, half his body was still covered in blood. He tried to move his left arm slightly, but it agitated the wound on his shoulder. Thus, he gave up on the idea of moving his left arm. Seems like I won’t be able to move my left arm as long as the wound on my shoulder is not healed.
  • Then, he took off his blood-stained pants right in front of Suzy. He took out a set of clothes from the luggage bag and slowly made his way to the sea. Crouching down slowly, he dipped his previous clothes into the seawater and cleaned off the blood on his body.
  • “I-I’ll help you!” Suzy walked over to Lewis, then she glanced down at his manhood. That too was covered in blood. Lewis waited for a while, but she failed to start moving.
  • “Didn’t you say you were going to help? Why aren’t you moving?” He turned around and glanced at her, and saw that she was blushing slightly as she gazed down at his manhood.
  • “Have you never seen one before? Hurry up! Help me clean off the blood on my back. Don’t touch the bandages to prevent the wound from getting infected!” he questioned her, feeling speechless at her slightly blushing face.
  • “Hmph! Who hasn’t seen one before?!” she snorted coldly. Then, she took the clothes from his hand and cleaned the blood off his back. Using her hands to scoop up some water, she even helped him clean the bloodstains on his front.
  • By the time he had put on his clothes again, his blood had flowed out to where the tiger sharks were. All of a sudden, the tiger sharks went into a frenzy and were swimming around in disarray.
  • “Let’s go! We’ll look for a place to stay!” Lewis glanced at the tiger sharks in the sea, then got up and headed back to the beach.
  • “Where are we going?” Suzy asked weakly.
  • “We’ll head there. There seems to be a cave in that direction. It’s too far and I can’t tell clearly. We’ll go closer and check it out.” He pointed at a hill in the distance where there was a dark spot. Without waiting for her agreement, he picked up the ax and led the way into the forest.
  • It took them an hour before they finally arrived at the place, after overcoming all sorts of obstacles along the way. Sure enough, there was a small cave located there. Holding the ax, he entered the cave. It was no more than 20 square meters wide, but it was flat inside and barely passed as a living space.
  • Plip, plop; plip, plop… He heard the sound of water dripping. Thus, he glanced in the direction of the sound—it was a small natural pool. With the help of the light, he could see that the water was extremely clear. I hope this is a freshwater pool. He dipped his hand into the water and brought it to his mouth, and found that there was no salty taste in the water.
  • “There are no animal droppings here. It seems like it should be safe. Let’s go; we need to bring all our usable luggage here before night falls,” he said as he glanced around their surroundings.
  • “Okay!” She nodded and did not say anything else.
  • The sun slowly set. When the sun disappeared, Lewis and Suzy finally managed to drag everything they had back to the cave. Lewis even brought back the black monster. The monster was at least a hundred kilograms. It was food! Thus, he couldn’t get rid of it.
  • Later, he found some lighters in the luggage bags, which made him ecstatic. With the lighters in hand, they didn’t need to worry about food problems at the very least.
  • For the next few days, Lewis recovered; he tended to his injuries while bringing Suzy along with him to scout their surrounding areas. Occasionally, they went into the forest and found some fruit, or went down to the beach to forage for some seafood to eat.
  • It was their ninth day after arriving on this island and his left shoulder was no longer wrapped in bandages as the wound had already scabbed over. His left arm, aside from being slightly affected by the wound on his shoulder, was completely healed. This made him knit his brows together tightly. As the saying goes, it takes a hundred days for the bone to knit and tendons to heal. So, why was his arm completely healed in just a few days?
  • Over the past few days, those monsters came looking for them several times. When they saw that he was fine and dandy, the monsters roared from a distance and left.
  • Today, Suzy decided that she would go around nearby by herself to train her courage. The next time they were met with another incident, she didn’t want to drag Lewis down with her even if she couldn’t be of help to him. Lewis, along with Suzy in tow, had already familiarized themselves with the surrounding 5 kilometers. Besides, it was a good thing if she could get around herself.
  • Within several days, she had rid herself of a pampered young lady’s demeanor and quickly adapted to the lifestyle of a wanderer. At noon, she came back joyfully. She hurriedly brought out several pink fruits the size of a baby’s fist as she said to him, “Lewis! Look! I found some fruits!”
  • “If it’s brightly-colored, it’s best not to eat! Even if it doesn’t contain poison, it most likely has some sort of side effect!” he said while shaking his head.
  • “It’s fine! I’ve eaten three of them. Look! It’s been an hour and I haven’t—” Before she could finish her sentence, her face flushed instantly and her body swayed slightly. “Lewis… I want…”
  • Without waiting for Lewis to react, Suzy pushed herself into his arms suddenly. Her eyes were dazed; her small mouth immediately covered his and he continued to accept her advances. At the same time, her hands were roving all over his body quickly. In a flash, she took off his pants and her body slowly moved lower and lower.
