Chapter 889 Slaughtering the Thin-Fish

  • “Swish!” As the beast lunged at Lewis Snow, he flicked aside and dodged with ease. The creature hit the ground, didn’t strike again, and fixed him with a wary stare.
  • Only then did Lewis see it clearly. It was neither quite fish nor snake—a snow-white, thin, long thing with a single eye. About five feet tall if stretched, its cry sounded like someone retching, and it made Lewis’s stomach turn.
  • Lewis didn’t know its name, but this monster was called the Thin-Fish. The Astral codex—or rather, the old chronicles—say: “Three hundred miles to the southeast lies Mount Nu Zheng. No grass or trees grow there. Gypsum water springs forth and flows west into the Lig River. There, Thin-Fish abound, shaped like sturgeons with one eye. Their sound is like gagging. When they appear, the world suffers a great drought.”
