Chapter 189 The Tomb Beneath the Water
- Lewis Snow steadied his breathing for a while. When a bit of strength came back, he pressed along the stone wall and moved forward, eyes locked on the river at his feet, hunting for any sign of the little black bugs. At last, he found a huge pool—a broad, dark basin where the underground river clearly sprang from.
- Beside the pool stood a massive stone pillar, and stairs unfurled around it, stretching forward into darkness. Too bad it was pitch-black ahead. Lewis couldn’t see where that path led.
- As soon as he drew close to the pillar, he noticed tool marks chiseled into the steps. Torches hung on the stone walls, like this place was an underground palace—more like a burial chamber, old as hell.
