• Giovanni extended his hand. “Lily,” he murmured, his voice low but certain, “may I have this dance?”
• Caught off guard, Lily hesitated, her pulse quickening as she glanced around the crowded room. The intensity in Giovanni’s gaze held her attention, and her hesitation melted away. She placed her hand in his, feeling a spark pass between them as his fingers wrapped firmly around hers.
