• Ian sat in the chair facing the door, feeling he needed to keep it in sight. When he’d arrived at Jac’s, Reid had let him in and handed him a coffee, and had been talking on the phone ever since. Jac made a quick appearance and then disappeared into the kitchen with Doctor Sandy to make tea. He had questions... mainly why was Sandy here and why was it taking this long to make tea?
• Brent had come through the door a few minutes later and was now standing by the window tapping a folder against his leg while talking on his phone.
• Alec had already been there before him. She was sitting at the table working on a laptop with a frown on her face. Other than a brief acknowledgment, she hadn’t so much as looked in his direction.
