• I wake up four hours after my rescue and my body feels like it’s been run over by a train. I had already lost hope and accepted my fate but here I am, given a second chance. The gorgeous face I saw before closing my eyes is the first I see. Abigail, my drop-dead gorgeous mate. Looking at her, my heart warms up and starts racing. She must have fallen asleep watching over me. Now it’s my turn to watch her. She looks so peaceful in her sleep, you would never guess the hell she’s been through. I take in her every feature, every contour and I’m blown away. Absolutely beautiful!
• I can’t believe that starvation hid all of this away, but maybe it was for the best. I might have managed to keep her away from dad’s friends but I definitely would not have been successful keeping her away from dad himself had she looked like this. The lustrous bastard could not keep his remarks to himself when she walked past him the day she came back.
