Chapter 53 Until After Death

• Without giving me a chance to question, Matteo takes my hand and leads me to the parking lot. In silence, we get into the car, and he starts driving right away. With an irritated expression and pale fingers from gripping the steering wheel so tightly, for a few minutes, his gaze remains fixed on the road.
• "I didn't want to leave you like that..." I try to argue, but his gaze silences me before I can finish the sentence.
• "Do you have any idea of the fear I felt when I looked for you and couldn't find you? Do you have any idea of the chaos that happened until I managed to locate you?"
