Chapter 18

• "Axel," Isabelle called out when she was sure the cake was done, and ready to be eaten. But no reply came. So, she took the bread out of the oven.
• Just as she was about to sink a knife into the cake, her phone started ringing. Dropping the knife on the plate, she walked to the other side of the counter and picked up her phone, with a broad smile, thinking it was Ruby calling her.
• Confusion covered her features when she saw a contact that she didn't remember saving.
