Chapter 78

• We were both covered in a sheen of sweat by the time we came down from our cloud nine. We picked our clothes off the floor, our eyes meeting occasionally. She looked spent, leaning against the wall for support like her knees could no longer beat her weight. She was quiet, silently watching me as I got dressed. I held her eyes, walking over to stand in front of her. I held the side of her head and kissed her slowly with tongue.
• When I pulled back, she was smiling at me. I touched our foreheads together, touching her lips with mine again before cautiously slipping out of her room and hurrying back to mine. I couldn't wipe the wide smile on my face off as I got into the shower. As I stepped out minutes later and got dressed, I silently admitted the truth to myself.
