• I gazed intently at the surveillance monitor, scanning for any signs of unusual activity. My eyes swept across the screens, taking in every detail. The hum of the machines and the faint glow of footages from the cameras we'd placed in the pack was a little soothing, even though my mind remained on high alert. I'd been doing less of field work, wanting to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity from the comfort of the house. More than that, I knew I had to be extremely careful.
