Chapter 4 Aseal
- Asael's POV
- I wake up in an unfamiliar apartment. A sharp headache strikes as I try to raise my head.
- “Where am I?” I ask
- “Don't worry, you're in safe hands.” Someone walks over to me and hands me a cup of coffee.
- “Eryx? Why are you here?” The headache throbs, and I groan.
- “Are you sure you feel good?” He leans closer to me and asks.
- At another glance at myself and back at Eryx, a flash of what happened last night lights in my head.
- “Tell me we didn't?” My eyes shines as I hope we didn't.
- “No. You fell asleep.”
- “Fuck!”
- “I'm sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen at all.”
- I couldn't imagine what I had done.
- I stand up hastily from the bed.
- “This is a lovely room you have here,” I say as I get my dress from the chair and wear it. “I'm really sorry for dragging you into this mess. Just you know, forget this ever happened between us.”
- Eryx keeps looking at me like he doesn't understand me.
- “I have to go now. I can't miss my wedding.” I hurry out of his room.
- In no time, I run back and push the door open, panting.
- “My phone? Did you see my phone?”
- “Oh yes.” He walks over to his table and hands it over to me.
- “Thank you.”
- I turn to walk away.
- On another thought, I decide to ask, “Can you do me one more favour?”
- “Sure.”
- “I need a ride.”
- Eryx gets his keys and follows me out of his house.
- “I'm sorry, but I really need you to go faster. I have to expose them.”
- He steps on the accelerator, and I am shocked by how fast the car moves.
- “Who are you exposing? Isn't it your wedding you're going to?”
- “Yes, it is. But it's more than just a wedding now.”
- I didn't say more than that, and he did push further.
- I arrive home with him in no time.
- “Where did you go to since yesterday? I was so worried.” Sloane sighs in relief.
- “Let's get you dressed. Allen has been so damn worried.”
- “There's no more time. Let's just make things happen in a snap.” I exclaim, as though it wasn't me who kept every one of them waiting.
- They help me with my hair while I stand as the stylist dresses me. A blush is also thrown onto my face by a makeup artist. All happening concurrently.
- The end result is stunning as I look at myself in the mirror.
- The glowing white gown fit perfectly on my skin, making me look like a now.
- My hair is packed up in a bun, showing me off as though I were only exposed to tenderness.
- “You're gorgeous.” Eryx is the first male to see my dress, as he is the one to drive me in a hurry to where I will get wed.
- I hold firm to my phone.
- We arrive at the open air, and the crowd that waits for me stood in cheer as they watched Eryx walk me down the aisle in a dazzling white gown.
- “She looks beautiful.” I hear someone say.
- This takes the attention off Rhea. All attention was now on m,e with everyone hoping to get a better glimpse at how I looked.
- Shots of photographs were taken of my every move.
- Allen watches from the top. He seems taken away by how beautiful I look, but I wasn't there to get into any of his acts.
- Eryx drops me off at him.
- I pause and turn to him, “Thank you.”
- He smiles softly like a gentleman and walks back into the crowd to get a seat.
- The wedding begins, and Allen has his men dance forward for a little dramatic show.
- Everyone laughs except me, but I kept the smile on my face.
- “How about you give your phone to Sloane? It's odd that you hold it this way.” Allen whispers into my ear.
- “It's fine with me like this.” I keep a smile on my face while I respond.
- He didn't push further. He just continues in acts.
- It was time to say our vows and, as a tradition, sign our wedding contracts.
- Allen's face lights up. I can feel his excitement as he holds dearly, my hands dearly.
- The priest was up in front of us, and he began to read to us words to say after him.
- “I, Asael Brooker, take Allen Chase to be my lovely wedded husband…” The words keep going on and I don't think anything of them, but I keep repeating them after the priest.
- Allen's part feels faster. He smiles weirdly as he promises vaguely.
- I can see through him and I couldn't help the rage that swells from within me.
- I see Eryx stand up from the crowd and leave, moments after we put fingers into both of our hands, and I brush my lips against Allen's. I had never had a kiss as blank as that.
- I know Allen is beginning to feel something is wrong with how I am reacting but he doesn't say anything.
- His concern must just be about me signing the marriage contract.
- He didn't care to ask if I was doing right or not. He just ignores all my nonchalant behaviours and acts like he doesn't notice. I nod carefully as I notice more signs.
- Now it was time for the both of us to sign.
- I turn to look in the direction of Rhea. I catch her gaze fixed on me.
- She smiles at me and does not take it off.
- Allen was done signing, and now, it's my turn.
- He pushes it to my front. I hold up the pen and place it on the paper.
- I pick up the paper and shred it into pieces.
- “No!” Allen was too late to get the contract from my hand.
- The crowd yells in shock.
- “Sloane. Get me the Mic.”
- She passes it to me without thinking.
