Chapter 14 Faking A Sleep

• Jessica shouted disdainfully at the top of her voice. Her arrival sent a pang of chill down all the maids' spines. She carried her tired legs as she held onto the railings of the staircase, making her way to the upper part of the mansion.
• Getting up, she walked past Bernard’s room, but suddenly turned and walked towards the room.
• “Bernard!” She yelled, waiting outside the door with her ear placed beside it to eavesdrop on any sound coming from inside.
