Chapter 8 Eight
- If there is a competition to cry all day and make your eyes swollen in Indonesia, maybe Arini should join it. And win. How could I not, as soon as I went up to her room, she was already crying silently. Her chest was tight. Richard squeezed and beat her so it wouldn't be too painful, but it became even more so.
- Rieka's words just now made Arini really hurt. she is not a friend anymore, but an enemy in the blanket. If you really like Reyhan, there's no need to grab him in a dirty way. In fact, almost every day Arini told me about her close relationship with Reyhan. The sweetness, the cuteness of Reyhan, the kindness, not to mention the way Reyhan treated her.
- Is it really not good to share that story with one's best friend, to the point that the friend doesn't know how to snatch her boyfriend?
- Arini repeatedly wiped away the tears that kept falling. Her nose was red. The snot kept coming out. but she didn't care. Until the very last staircase, Arini continued to walk while crying. sometimes she just glanced at other residents who happened to pass her. Damn her life. Crying over a betrayed boyfriend with her best friend, watched by many people during a drama.
- The stomach that was hungry, wanted to eat to calm her mind, so she could face the day tomorrow because ... ah, Rieka was in the same office as her. Oh my. Did she have to resign because of this? I really don't want to see Rieka again.
- But why did she have to resign? What did she do wrong?
- The food that was originally tantalizing, chicken noodle complete with big meatballs plus extra smbal and sauce, Arini put on the nightstand. There was no appetite at all to eat.
- "They're both so bad at being human." Arini chose to lie back down. She was still crying but not like when she climbed the stairs. Her cell phone seemed to have a lot of incoming notifications but she didn't care. "Sleeping again is better."
- Just as she pulled up the blanket, there was a knock on her bedroom door.
- "Who?" Arini asked lazily. She hadn't gotten out of bed yet either. If it was Rieka who came to her room, besides having no shame, she had no brains either. Maybe during the division of brains in front of God, this rieka was rationed only a percentage of goodness in her heart. so she could act shamelessly like last night.
- "Mom, son."
- Arini let out a long sigh. Bu Sinta had knocked. If she refused, Mrs. Sinta wouldn't like it. She wouldn't give up knocking until they talked.
- "May I come in, son?"
- She chose to immediately get up from her bed, rubbed her face quickly and hurried to open the door. "Yes ma'am."
- Mrs. Sinta smiled slightly. Entering after being invited, she sat on the edge of Arini's bed. Her eyes looked at the contents of the room of one of the boarders she had. arini was a neat girl with her room. The proof is that this white room looks neat even though Sinta knows, it looks like Arini is facing a problem.
- Earlier, when Arini went upstairs, she talked to Rieka.
- Rieka only said that Arini misunderstood. Arini caught rieka and reyhan talking. Rieka herself also took part in helping Arini prepare a surprise party for Reyhan. But it looks like Arini got the wrong idea.
- Feeling that she was in the middle of a dispute between two friends whom Sinta knew well, she felt that she had to intervene. That's why she had to talk to Arini to find out what was going on.
- "What's the matter, son, that you're fighting with Rieka?" asked Mrs. Sinta quietly. She reached out to brush Arini's slightly messy hair. "Is it hard to cry? You also had a fight with Reyhan in the front, right? Is there a connection?"
- If Arini could give an opinion, Mrs. Sinta was like a nosy neighbor. Mothers who really want to know what's going on around their house. But Arini couldn't think like that when she considered this middle-aged woman as her mother. Moreover, the relationship between Sinta and her mother was quite close.
- "You know my relationship with Reyhan, right?"
- Sinta nodded.
- "You also know that I'm friends with Rieka, right?"
- She nodded once again.
- "They betrayed me, mom. Behind my back they had a relationship."
- Sinta's brow furrowed. "But what Rieka said wasn't like that, son?"
- Arini smiled slightly. "I don't care if mom believes Arini or not, but what Arini saw was like that. Couldn't they have kissed in a restaurant? So intimate? The timing was perfect when I came?"
- Sinta was stunned.
- "If you don't believe me, I have proof."
- ***
- Reyhan waited for someone to arrive at his unit. Since he had been working for the past few years, he had chosen to live in an apartment rather than at home. Reyhan didn't really like being under the same roof as his father even though he couldn't deny, what he got was also mostly from his father.
- Including his position in the office now. if not for Richard Alexander's influence, Reyhan would have been promoted a long time ago.
- He just doesn't want to see his father who always misses his mother. Indeed, Reyhan himself also often thinks about his mother. but not like his father who is too sentimental. Often drunk because he remembers his deceased mother.
- "It's been a long time," Reyhan chuckled. He downed the soda that had just been taken out of the refrigerator. He stared at the dirty plates that were piled up but he was too lazy to tidy up. Several snack wrappers and food containers were scattered around the dining table and kitchen.
- "I have to call the apartment cleaners immediately."
- Just as Reyhan picked up the phone near the kitchen to call room service, the bell rang loudly with a click on the door. The figure he was waiting for was already present, grumbling.
- "Arini can't be persuaded, Rey."
- "Whose fault is it?" Reyhan chuckled. He continued his activities. Don't let him pile up the trash here for too long.
- "Okay, I was wrong. but what else can I do? I also want to give you a gift, right?" rieka pouted even more. "Would you rather have Arini give you what's that? A cheap wallet? Instead of me, Rey?"
- The good thing is that the building service responded immediately and made Reyhan not have to say much. He said that in ten minutes someone would come to tidy up his unit.
- "I know." Reyhan smiled. "I just don't want to be labeled badly, dear Rieka. You know my reputation as a good guy?"
- "I'm not like that. You present a different person." Rieka approached. Frowning in disgust at the pile of trash. "Gosh you're so lazy Rey."
- "Let it go. Someone will clean it up later." Since Rieka was now in front of him, he carried the girl like a koala. Making Rieka squeal in surprise but with laughter.
- "Rey, I'll fall."
- "Yeah, no." Reyhan kissed the tip of Rieka's nose. "Miss you baby."
- "All night less?"
- It was Reyhan who laughed. "Not enough. I'm in a bad mood because of Arini."
- Rieka rubbed Reyhan's forehead lightly. "I'll persuade her so she won't get angry."
- "That's right. My dearest rieka." One sweet kiss from Reyhan to Rieka was accompanied by a squeeze on Rieka's synthetic buttocks. "I took my ration this afternoon. I want your sighs to be heard by the cleaners later."
- Rieka chose to smile even though her heart was a little worried. "The one you called a man?"
- "Yes. Let him not forget your voice, dear."
- Rieka looked speechless.
- "Don't refuse if not, I'll reduce your monthly allowance."
- "Okay."
