• I rose from sleep to hear the sound of music, people chatting and walking about in our house and maids doing their work. Today is my dad's birthday. I sighed and sat up on the bed staring at nothing in particular. I'd been busy last night meeting with Alpha's from different packs. And Father sent me on an errand. When I retired to bed, Yvonne already slept off. I had to crawl silently onto the bed and sleep beside her without disturbing.
• I could hear the running water turned off. Yvonne walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body.
